I'm not going to make this a long post...but i'll point out a few quick things for nil's benefit...

abo's survival skills are mediocre compared to other races.
they lived day to day for thousands of years
they never even invented the wheel
and when an outside influence altered their environment, they start to die out.

ive got nothing against most of them and i judge each as an individual, but their survival skils and intelligence are definately NOT unequaled

Thats an interesting thought dopester. Is a cultures survival abilty based on how it adapts?

I mean the abo's dig for water, we turn on a knob and its pumped directly to us.

They hunt for food. we go to a place where we can buy whatever we need. and that place is stocked by farmers who don't hunt the wild but selectlive breed animals for consumption

They build there own little huts, we have an industry that builds residence for us with all the solutions for modern living.

You wouldn't automatically think that we have better survival tactics but when it comes down to it. strand a 1000 of us in the middle of nowhere and we will build condos, plumbing system, and places of entertainment.

strand 1000 abos in the middle of nowhere they won't do much more than get along with what they have.

I can't say which one is superior that would be compairing appels to oranges but i can say i prefer our system, but then again, I couldn't possibly care less about the enviorment.

The wheel is an invention intrinsic to peoples who posses beasts of burden. Another example of a society which did not posses the wheel is the inca. Once again this is due to the fact that their location lacked potential large pack animals, I include large as the incas possesed llamas, which allthough capable pack animals are not sufficient means of locomotion for a vehicle. Another reason for the primitive state of technology among the aborigional population of austrailia is the lack of fresh water and cereal crops necessary for agricultural development. It is this factor which must be seen as the reason for the primitive technological state of the aboriginals, not some racist veiw of their inferiority.

I'm not deneighing that there are some great abo's out there, I've talked to some and gotten on fine with them they WORK for a living and damn hard too. if you knew anything at all about australia, smithee, you would know that most convicts who settled came from england or ireland who ALREADY HAD THE WHEEL.
the wheel was not invented solely to make a carriage from so an animal could pull it, the circle has infinite uses not just the one you pointed out. I've seen several documentaries showing how detremental not having the wheel was to the aboriginies.

that was because they didnt move to the coast which would have been eaasy enough seeing as they were nomadic and there is PLENTY of fresh water anywhere on the perimiter of australia. Crops, ARE agricultural development, smitheee. Crop dont just sprout up for no reason, they have to be planted and reaped, the aboriginies didnt do this, therefore they go no crops.

no you dont know alot about the subject. Agriculture is not invented it evolves from the practice of selective gathering the leap from gathering to farming is based on the suitability of native fauna to bear in suffient quantity to provide a stable food source. Austrialia being isolated had none of the staple crops of grain corn or potatoes.
