Well guys... It's been fun. But all good things come to an end, some sooner than others. Enigma will have to find a new moderator for Media. Seeing how often he keeps in contact with the users or even agknowledges our existence, it could be quite awhile till he realizes some of his mods are leaving. But I'm not gonna get into any of that now, cause I realized nothing matters anymore. Things are the way they are and there is much more out there besides totse. There are a handfull of us as of now working on a more of a user based site and board. Minus a power crazed admin who uses his people as personal guinni pigs to make his site a "better place". So to those of you who care, this is my Goodbye. It was good to know a lot of you.

We have decided not to post the URL to the site, but only pass it on by word of mouth. If you come into the #ain we will tell you the site name. The reason for this the site is still being built. You and I both know that if someone clicked on a link from a post and didn't like what they saw right away, most likely they won't come back. In the chat we will be able to explain things more efficently. Just remember that there is no "one administrator". So far there are many with admin access all working together creating the site. Only time until it will be open to the public.

Not sure what the purpose of this site is anymore. Its dried up. Mr Enigma doesnt post on here. He doesnt seem to really sell a lot of ad space so I doubt he is making any real money. People are coming and going as newbies. The old timers are leaving one by one or not stopping by as often.

I love talking about the strange and unknown and there has been less then 1 or 2 new posts in the conspiracy forum every week since i have joined this site a few months back.

The problem is this. All of you are trying to build BBS sites of your own. no one will join. it will be to saturated.

another thing i believe is happening is this. Americans in general are getting out more or away from the computer. I think the computer is becoming a thing of the past. This is a good thing for American. I think we need another health craze. I mean there are 7 million people in the bay area and either people are in their cars on the free or watching tv or on the computer/games.

where the fuck is everyone? Why dont people walk around, go to park, flirt with each other. I know in the 1980s before computers were in everyones household that Night clubs used to be swingging bigtime. I got to clubs now and their isnt half the people in these places except the real trendy mega clubs that hold 10 thousand people. most of them latin people and the main forum is latin music and rap.

Gawd im rambling and im sorry but this world needs a good war to entertain the masses. Maybe if we had another World War it would stir up the spirits in people. make them want to go out and socialize.

Good luck with your new site, although the cynical and experienced side of me knows that you're unlikely to ever create a site as big as totse, unless you put a lot of effort into it over a large amount of time.

I have actually entertained the suspicion that enigma is dead or hospitalised or something recently, and that the server is still running in his basement, but will one day go kaputsky, and no more totse.

I would have more of a life myself but my life is watching kids in the day and working nights. i also sell shit on the weekends at the flea markets to make extra cash.

But when you are 35 and have kids its hard to get out much. I mean the family and I go to the beach or to parks alot but wanting to get out on my own is next to impossible.

But you kids have fun. Go out and find stuff to do.

All we younger folk do is drugs and try and find members of the opposite sex to... someday.. become like you.

I like your new site. Your site is the reincarnation of the &totse BBS. Your site will also consist of the reincarnation of the &totse board members.

When people come to totse.. they come for the information, not to meet people.

I know what you are trying to say but we are not trying to create a new totse. Totse just isnt the same now with all new people here then it use to be. Totse was a unique place that was different and thats what i liked about it the most. It is no longer that. I did this first.. but at least I did it for my own needs and reasons, felt I was getting too beat down by the morons, and getting too sarcastic and negative on a constant basis.

Since my (still fairly recent) return, I've attempted to keep the moron bashing to a minimum, and did my part to create a few "oldstyle" totse posts.

The simple fact of the matter is that you cannot recreate a community elsewhere, it becomes something new, and usually something less than the original. At least in my experience. Totse has it's flaws yes, but it also has a unique strength, it's complete lack of moderation, beyond a very simplistic sense anyway. Noone here is ever banned for their opinions, no matter how insane they are. Laudable ideas always have a downside, and the truth is that we do not always want to hear the opinions of others. Free speech is all well and good, but what we really mean by that, is the freedom for those like us to be able to speak. If we are ever, as people, to become people of integrity and worth, our need is to listen to all the voices, not just those that sound like ours. I may disagree heartily with many here, I may find many people to be stupid, or make posts without merit. But for those who do not make posts I consider worthwhile, maybe it's just time for them to learn from us, and us from them. Some of the people here are young, some are not, some are intelligent, thoughtful people, some are not. But we're all people, and totse's power, is the power of people to say what they will, without fear of retribution, other than words in kind.

No matter where you go, or what you do, this will remain unique to the temple.
