This is a video i shot today of one of the many military black helicopters that have been buzzing my house for the past week. why there is so much military excersizes going on in my area is beyond my scope of understanding. but i think its clearly a violation of air space and my families safety. i wish i could have edited the entire 1 minute into a loadable wmv file but tripod wont load the file that large so i had to cut it to the last 5-10 seconds which isnt as impressive. but trust me the helicopter was less then 100 feet above my house at a 45 degree tilt. you decide.. is this a violation to me as a citizen. I hope one of you has been in the airforce so you can tell me what kind of copter this is and what its used for.

I cant be 100% sure, (and ive never been in the military) but It looks like a AH-1 Cobra; a standard close-support attack chopper, usually armed with TOW anti-tank missles.

where do you live? they dont have a very large flight range.

could they have been doing any training?
did you personaly spot and type of munitions onboard?

how long has it been going on?

San Francisco Bay Area..45-50 Miles from Travis Air Force Base.

Dont think so. reason, its just 1 helicopter. Sometimes we get like 2 or 4 in formation that fly overhead from who knows where in the direction of travis. but this was clearly doing manuvers. buzzing above my house and around my block for about 5 minutes. thats what is nuts about it. 3rd time this week.

That was not a AH-1 Cobra.

It's a UH-1 Huey.

i dont think the Air Force owns UH-1's do they? since the only army base i have ever known in the bay area were Oakland and Fort Ord in Monterey i doubt it could of came from those bases because they both closed. only bases i know of now in the bay area are concord navel weapons stationary and fairfields Travis Airforce Base. so its more of a mystery now.

I took the advice if "Calling the military base" and they never called me back. they have an answering machine that says "We dont take anonymous calls.. all questions must be submitted with a return phone number and your full name" so i left my name and number and didnt get a call back. i bet im on some kind of list now!

Well Yesterday (June 8) I got my call from Travis. they told me the Airforce doesnt fly helicopters. I should have known that but I didnt know of any army bases in the area. His excuse was there are in fact some reserve bases left. Mt Hamelton National Guards near San Jose is still ative. he said that it is illegal and against military rules to do excersises above civilian population (Although my house could be a part of a flight path since i get a lot of military vehicals flying over my house). but what after hearing my story of him buzzing my house he said "Most likely it was an army reserve showing off to a family member" and if I had a tail number he would look it up for me. but i couldnt see one on the video. I should have had my "Image Stablizer" on. next time i will do this.

PS don't complain about the US military, they are the biggest gang in town, Not alot will happen as a result.
