Oxydation sets in and these have to be rebiult ever 3 years or so. Fuel injection is just as fuel efficient.

Re: carburetor modifications for better gas milage
I don't know much about them, but I have heard of vehicles that get unreal gas mileage.
I the key is making cooler running engines, most of the energy from combustion is converted into heat. Find a way to turn gasoline and oxygen into carbon dioxide and water, without producing much heat and there ya go.

Hybrid cars are the future. i wonder if these hydrogene cars that store power in cells (Whatever they are called) will become a reality. i understand the technology is there but they would cost hundreds of thousands to build a single car at this time. and im sure it would be like driving a small nuclear bomb around

Re: carburetor modifications for better gas milage
why hasnt someone made a hydogen powered car? just mix hydrogen and oxigen in a 2:1 ratio in a pressurized tank, inject it into the piston, and ignite. then the exaust would be good ol H20.
im sure theres a problem with that idea though, which is why they havent done it yet. what is that problem, if there is one?

The problem is also that transporting pressurized hydrogen is very dangerous.

Re: carburetor modifications for better gas milage
It's not all the much more dangerous than transporting other flamable gasses.

Re: carburetor modifications for better gas milage
They have developed hydrogen powered cars, both with combustion and fuel cells. But no one wants them.
