The federal income tax laws are something I've been attempting to educate myself on.

The above article shows something wrong. Explore the message of the foundation. It's interesting at the least. But if you pay taxes, it'll probably piss you off.

i know this really doesnt apply to that story. but before WWII didnt we just pay sales tax and property tax in this country. Didnt income tax become a temporary thing to support the war effort? and yet it stuck like many things the Government reformed.

Its just like the Bay Bridge. They decided to charge 2 dollars on all 7 bridges (Except the Golden Gate.. it remained 3 dollars) for toll to pay for the new Oakland side of the bay bridge (That still hasnt started and was supposed to be completed in 2003 but now 2009) and said this will be a temporary thing until the bridge is built. But golly gee someone didnt do their math right and the bridge will cost 3 times its orriginal estimation. it is now a permanent bridge toll and will most likely be raised between 3-5 dollars in the next decade. The Golden Gate Bridge was supposed to charge toll only untill it was completely paid off.. but they continue to charge toll to this day not because it is need for maintanence but they decided to use the toll to pay substity for the cost to run buses and other forms of transportation. The Government weather local or federal is always finding ways to fuck people over. But i guess someone has to pay for it.

as long as we are all being freaken critical sbout the tax system,

since i dont pay tax,

i will point some thing out that you both will not realize how well you really have it compared to this fucking country,

we have three words here in australia that reign in misery

and that is G S T, goods and service tax,

that means that your average joe, gets on average taxed about 49 cents out of the dollor , then has to pay from that 10 percent g s t on any food,fuel, any luxuary item,they buy added onto the retail price plus 'services' and on evey fucking thing, so not only have they taxed you once, they tax you another 10 percent again.onany thing you purchase

so dudes, be thankfull you arnt in new zealand or australia, because that shit is worst.

Uhhh every country has that Fuckhead.. Only in the US it's 15% on top of everything you buy.

That's a new one on me, Suz. I lived in Canada for a little while, and the additions of the PST and GST made my head spin. Right now, we pay 4% sales tax to state and 4% to county- 8% total, and we're in the higher ranges.. or so I thought. Where's this 15% coming from? Obscene sales tax or something else?

here in alberta the richest (most productive) province in the country we don't pay PST.

but we support the fuckin country with money so it all evens out.

I got so pissed when MI raised from 4% to 6%. Then I looked at what the fedral government takes from you, and 7 years later am still in shock.

Oh no, we don't pay at the end. We get it taken out of our paychecks as we go along, and then they give some of it back or take more, depending on where you fall in the obscenely oversized set of laws that have been created to confuse the living hell out of the average American and get them to do the "easy" version of their taxes every spring- and often lose out on a few hundred bucks.

well obviouslly 8 1/2% was sales tax, Income Tax (which is unconstitutional under the doublized taxation laws) is i believe a standard 28% of your paycheck. there are property taxes, and numerous other taxes that punish the middle class the most. about 42% of your paycheck is actually spent towards all forms of taxes if you are middle income. the poor dont have to may as much because they dont purchase things and the rich just get special treatment. and for what. My road is still cracked and potmarked (Thanks to californias many tremors) our schools have to pack 40+ kids in every room that were designed for 27 kids. Our police is under staffed and over worked which makes then cranky and unwilling to let you go with even a miner traffic violation. we have to pay for bridge tolls to subsidize all forms of mass transit (That i refuse to use.. i'de rather not drive to help our polution problem). i got a lot to gripe about but America is still a pretty cool country. it is just full of shitheads that ruin it for the hard working and decent people.
