Default computer freeze-up with totse

I am the guy with the totse freezup problem. I have an e-machine with 128 bits of ram and 20 meg of hard drive. I run windows me. So just answer the damn question please. steve48

Correction one: 128 megs, not bits.

Correction two: 20 gigs, not megs.

It may sound nitpicky, but this is important information. You really need to know what you have, and not assume anyone else will know what you're saying if you get your terms mixed up.

Why's it locking up? Lot of possibilities.. browser settings could be wrong, Windows could have something set improperly, your modem (assuming you're on 56k) might just suck too much to handle the site (most likely because it's faulty, not simply because it's a piece of crap).. several possibilities.

Try going to www.zdnet.com and doing a search for System Mechanic. Clean out the unneeded files and registry entries (DON'T touch the duplicate files). See if that helps.

What browser are you running? I ran Netscape for the past 5 years, and found it locked up frequently on various sites. Switched to IE about 1 month ago and it's only crashed once. Try IE, or a 3rd party browser (browsers.com has a bunch). Many of them are more crash-resistant than Netscape is.
