Why is it that only a small percentage of us will ever live up to our full potential? All of us have special gifts and insights that we should be able to contribute to our fellow man, but so few of us will. It seems that the more that a person strives to achieve, the easier it is to fail. Instead of doing something remarkable, it is simpler to indulge in something less satisfying. The idea that we are taught from children to learn what we are told, to believe in what our teachers say, scares me. This, they say is the way things happen, this they say...are the way things will be. Now go get get married, have kids and be a productive member of society. Work your 9to5 job until your life is almost over. And then maybe just maybe, the harvest of your work for us will be worth the effort. I am afraid that almost all of us are not going to be remembered for our acomplishments. That the words we've spoke, the things we've felt, are futile. Are there any true legends left, are there any great people who we can tell our children and grandchildren about? Will there ever be a time in the future when one of us can sit a child down by the fire and tell a tale of someone extraordinary? Another Ulysses perhaps, or even a Paul Bunyan. Are those days gone forever? If they are over, if we... as humanity as a whole have nothing to look forward to. Then we are condemned to be without purpose, in this conundrum we call life.
Let me be the first to apologize for not doing anything.

Re: frivol
Everyone has potential, like you said. I think that sciocity just sucks away you life, ambitions, asperations, and innocence. That's just the way it works.

Re: frivol
... It's easier to destroy than create, human lazyness is a matter of life. Having potential isn't enough, you need to have dedication, devotion, and the will to do something with your potential. Potential just dosn't work by its self. One thing is not to worry about other people living up to their potential, do it for yourself.. 'Cause in the end thats what really matter...
