A FURIOUS RAGE
For those of you that don't keep up with the news: Everyone (or nearly so) know that Bush was leaniant on pollution when he was elected. The average person probably didn't pay as much attention to this as they should have. A few weeks ago Bush decided to ease up restrictions on how much industrial CO2 can be released into the atmosphere. OK this pissed me off, but it's not that bad, right? Well, OUR GLOURIOUS LEADER has topped that. Citing the cost of testing, HE IS REMOVING FEDERAL REGULATIONS ON ARSINIC IN TAP WATER. And we all know what arsinic does, right. Are we really willing to pay for a few dollars less in taxes by being posioned? HELL NO. Arsinic is a bad enough problem in some areas already. I first heard of this on the 10:00 news. This resulted in 1. Furious cursing at the top of my lungs for several minuites. 2. Stomping around my house screaming about how I'm going to kill the bastard while throwing things. 3. Storming up and down Woodward mad as hell complaining to anyone that would listen. I was thrown out of 3 party stores and a bar. This continued until one in the morning when I started to get cold. 4. Giving speaches in several of my classes at school about how Bush is going to kill us all. 5. And again in 6 hours when I have to be to school. With luck I can get access to the PA system. Consequences be damned.

Re: A FURIOUS RAGE
It's things like this that make me wonder if things would be any better with Gore in office. Certainly this wouldn't happen.. but what would?
The one thing scarier than that is the fact that the country is so bent on two parties that no one with sense had a prayer.

Fuck you Human_Gourd,
Can't you be fair? The differences between the two parties aren't that significant.
I would vote for a republican because I believe businesses should be given less restrictions because at the end of the day, they employ you and me.

Bush is going to kill us all with pollution. Gore would have killed us all by taking our guns. The only real chance we ever had not to get fucked royaly was McCain. How Bush beat him is a mystery to me.

Re: A FURIOUS RAGE
it would've happened anyway if gore was in office;
it would've happened if nader was in office;
hell it would have happened if anybody on this board was in office.
you people give to much to the president.
he writes a paper and it becomes law.
** shakes head at obvious ignorance of the way things work **
you fucking bush bashers want to bash him because gore didn't get in.
look in the fucking mirror jackasses at the other legislators you fucking put into office that are going to vote on these issues and make them law!!!!!
no controversy; just hillary clinton; who bush is supposedly umdermining.
the president is nothing more than a scapegoat for 600 other elected officials when policy turns bad.

Re: A FURIOUS RAGE
Let me try this again.
If Gore was President, I don't think *this* specific thing would've happened. That doesn't mean nothing bad would've happened, it just would've been something different.
It's not because Bush is in the White House, or Gore isn't- it's because the Republicans control the White House, and the Democrats don't. If Nader, or any 3rd party candidate, was President, it's a crapshoot as far as what would get done. Right now, things get split along party lines a lot, and the Pres is just part of that. With someone who's not a Democrat or a Republican, that would muddle up the sad little structure we have now, perhaps changing things for the better.
Or, perhaps not. I'd like to see what happens someday, though.

GOEORGE BUSH BWAGHAHAHAHHAHAHAHWAHHAHH
he grew up as a very rich child with powerful parents. he partied from high school untill he was 40 then went cold turkey on alchohol and drugs.
his business career was marked by mediocrity or failure that nonetheless resulted making him millions of dollors thanks to the polical allies of 'its' father
who just so happened to be the us president. he was elected 46 govenor of texas mostly because of his family name and his dads cronies.
he found G.O.D(gold or dollors) and became a christian and now is the 43rd president of the united snakes.
hahaha all you cunts are crapping on like you are the bush admin, who are a combination of cold war warriors(bwawbahahahw)
big business bureacrates and ideologues havested from the ford and nixon regan admins, but dont let me but in hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahah

Re: A FURIOUS RAGE
... I'm so with you Prometheus, he's a dictatory, a tyrant and should be destroyed. That's in-human of him, and just not right. He's also going back on his word about a lot of enviormental stuff... ... and Redrover, you can go to fucking hell, the whole point is we didn't vote for the bastard. He took the countries head position by (legal) force. The exact defention of a dictator. Opposed to a President that has to be elected for Presidentsy by the people (which technically Gore was)............ and though I would have been happier if Gore had been rightfully elected, have we not forgotten about Nadar... I was all for him.

Re: A FURIOUS RAGE
Liberal = Group Rights
Conservative = Individual Rights
What it boils down to. Sure there are plenty of deviations from this basic formula, but all in all, it holds true. Thats why you always see the conservatives de-regulating and the liberals regulating all to hell. Now mind you, the slime mold we currently have in office is a total middle o' the road asshole, but hey, he's there, deal with it.
If it really bothers you that much about the arsenic then get yourself a water filter, god forbid you TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF for a change...

Re: A FURIOUS RAGE
Communism is a political system based on Marx's and Engel's writing designed to give power to the working man. I all the instances that it has been instituted, I has brought corruption, dictatorship and enprisonment of marginals and other people that are gainst the government.
A majority of the people who visit this web site constitute part of this category so therefore, if we lived in a communist country, we would be rotting in a prison camp.

Re: A FURIOUS RAGE
Actualy communisim would result in everyone automaticly doing what is best for everyone else. We wouldn't need money. We wouldn't have crime. And we wouldn't be human, because part of being human is the greed that would bring that system to it's knees.

HAHAHAH
Whered you learn that Prometheus, fairy tales 101???
Communism is the system by which everyone is dragged down to the lowest common denominator. And anyone who tries to better himself or his families lot (or in any other way rise above mediocrity) is dragged back down. In communism no matter how hard anyone works they efforts will go unrewarded and any profit incurred will be distributed among the corrupt officials or workshy losers.
I admit from a purely theoretical point of view communism looks good, but in every case where it has been applied to real life its resulted in misery and repression of individual and group rights.

Re: A FURIOUS RAGE
The Federal govt doesn't need to regulate amounts of heavy metals in water, because the state does the same damn thing, and so does your city. He actually just saved you some money, by not allowing the federal govt to do the same damn thing your state does. Do you really think you're state govt is gonna allow any significant amount of Arsenic to be in your water?
CO2 emissions. It means nothing. He lifted federal regulation and allowed the states to set there own. For years the most populated states already have, such as CA, NY, TX. And so have many other states. Most state regs are the same or even lower than Federal regulations.
It is also much more efficient and cost effective for a state to regulate itself, but the EPA still has the power to set limits and even inspect. But Congress can't. And that's the way it should be. How many congressman do you know really know what the fuck they are talking about anyways? None of them really know jack shit about science, they all went to law school. So in not knowing anything, then why the hell should they be setting regulations? All they can base decisions on is what they hear and on opinion, they can't know for themselves.
I hope Bush rids of every Federal regulation there is, it would be a great thing. Simply put, the feds can't regulate a billion people, and it's much easier for a state govt to regulate a smaller population. It will save money and the quality will probably improve.
I think the only business the feds have doing is regulating international and interstate commerce, a military, and travel (cars, aviation, nasa). Anything else, the state can do better for less money. That's the way it used to be back in what people call the "good ole days", it wasn't till the great depression and WW2 that we all of a sudden had an overpowered central government. You want someone to blame, blame the baby boomers (your grandparents and/or their paretns), they thought it was a great idea.
I think Bush is trying to fix it, less govt=better life. So I say please, keep up the Federal deregulation.

Thats the thing about communism, if it worked it would create the perfect society... but because humans can be lazy, and evil, a real communist society isn't possible. What we get instead are governments that let you rot in prison camps...

Thank you. With the proper motivation humans can acheive that kind of peace. I just did a school report on the Inuit Indians of the north, so I know that they had exactly that kind of society historicaly. It worked very well so they didn't have or need and economy, or even money. Perhaps we can acheive that under the harsh conditions of a nuclear holocaust. *crosses fingers* Here's hoping anyways.
