Cleaning up Yosemity
When Yosemity blows sky high none of this talk of environmentalist will continue. Imagine like 1000 Hiroshimas going off right at once in the richest part of the world (California) and then a huge layer of black dust ash and soot enslaving the earth in darkness for 10 years or more. You really think your gonna care about damn PCPs by then. Old Faithful blows like twice a day practicly on command and the hills there are only rising above sea level. That place will blow up inevitably and the world will become black once again begining its new cycle. Just enjoy your commodity now while you can and dont complain that it messes with the environment. The environment already messes itself up.

Re: Cleaning up Yosemity
How is a water geyser going to cause an explosion equal to: quote: "1000 Hiroshimas going off right at once in the richest part of the world (California) and then a huge layer of black dust ash and soot enslaving the earth in darkness for 10 years or more...
? Also the Old Faithful Geyser in California erupts every thirty minutes...

Re: Cleaning up Yosemity
Its not old faithful itself you shmuck. In case you havent heard geologist and recent surveys conducted have concluded that there is a magma chamber underneath Yosemity National Park thats about 30miles wide by 20 miles deep by 30 miles long. Those are rough estimates I forgot which site I saw it from but anyways genius, imagine the biggest volcano in human history going off in the richest part of the world. Why do you think old faithful erupts every 30 minutes. Surveys also show that the hillsides in that region are growing larger rising above sea level at an alarming rate. Use your brains do the math, spell out the what many people envision as armageddon.

Re: Cleaning up Yosemity
Before you start calling people names and shooting your mouth off... you should research your topic from credible sources, not a homemade tripod site. quote: That magma plume created a giant volcanic eruption of the entire Yellowstone area 630,000 years ago. The wide basin, or "caldera," that the eruption left behind encompasses an area 45 by 30 miles in the center of the park.
The ground under Yellowstone has probably been swelling and contracting with hot, briny water from the Earth's mantle ever since. Eventually, that water finds a way out of the earth, mixing with the hot ground water that is also heading back to the surface to power the geysers and hot pools of Yellowstone.

Re: Cleaning up Yosemity
Kia you are a dolt, just because there is a magma chamber doesn't mean there is going to be an eruption.
There are dozens of such magma inclusions all over BC and there is not likely to ever be a volcano here. I actually soaked in water heated by one such inclusion on christmas eve.
Sitting in the forest beside a river a hundred kilometers from the nearest town soaking in a natural hot tub , beat that for amazing things to do on christmas eve.
Anyhow If there is some sort of impending volcano it is more likely to be a flow rather than an eruption, and if it were a violent eruption it might just might cool the earth down for a year. Trust me this happened before.
