Default environmentalists, lol

wtf is up with these people? Why doesn't the media ever call them on their shit?

No one ever asks them how they raise their monies...usually through their connections to the Democratic, Progressive, and Socialist parties...When's the last time the media has ever exposed flaws in their arguements?

Example: I have never heard about the studies that have concluded that global warming may be caused by non-human activity? It seems that the ocean temperature may have just as much to do with it than anything man could do. Only twenty yeats ago they were telling us about global cooling, leading me to think that these people have no credibilty whatsoever.

Let's take a look at President Bush's environmental policy.

Our government is a system of the people (despite what some of you may say) enter public opinion polls. Let's take a guess on how the media may propose Bush's policy in the newspapers, news stations, etc...

Would you be favor of paying $5.00 a gallon instead of exploring new areas for potential energy reserves?

or...and unfortunately more than likely:

Would you be willing to risk further damage to the environment or be in favor of conservation?

lol, whose going to say "Hell yes! let's fuck up the enviornment!" No, of course not.

My point is that environmentalists are babies and whiners. In their selfish, idealistic, shallow minds, it's either "CONSERVATION" or.. Plundering our resources, beating up wildlife, and poisoning nature

I think thast an excellent idea lokil! Lets deny it all! We sure will be a whole lot more happier that way huh. Nevermind the cancer brewing in your bloodstream from all the toxic waste put into the environment. Tell you what.. next time you are at your local discount store go check out the paint department. Focus around the laquer thinner/paint stripper area and have a look at some of the labels. Its like a cigarette label. The only difference is that people don't have a choice about these because it's in the FUCKING WATER! Where the fuck do you think it all goes? "Gee it somehow

mysteriously disappears into nothingness when we throw it away". Dumbass!
And at the beginning of your arguement you mention the money. The MONEY!
You have got your head so far up moneys asshole you can't see daylight!
Its not about the money badbrains, its about preserving what human qualities we have left before our pollutative ways genetically take that from us. Think thats possible?
Thing is that this earth is made up of everything we know. Everything tangible about our lives is of this earth. This earth knows us better than we know ourselves.
Most people have their head so far up their politically correct, 5 day a week party on the weekend, who wants to be a millionaire watching, give me some fucking money assholes that they care less what is going on around them. IT IS THE GOVERNMENTS PLACE TO CARE. But they don't either.

I was talking about Conservation of Resources. You don't think I know about Pollution. Santa Monica Bay is prolly one of the most beautiful in the world, but all of Los Angeles's shit is dumped there. In fact I wouldn't go swimming in any of Los Angeles's counties beaches.

BTW thanks for illustrating my point. See how you blew up? Just because you aren't willing to see both sides of the arguement. WTF man you sound like Fred Durst, it's either yer way or the highway. Conservatives are willing to compromise, Liberals aren't. That's why George W. got his tax cut passed. And that's why the government won't be shut down like under Clinton because of a simple budget.

Learn something, "rubble" lol. I have certain ideals about society and government. I vote on the party that carries my ideals the closest. It doesn't mean I always side with them one hundred percent. Texas Republicans are very "bring home the bacon" type politicians (i.e. LBJ, Bush) Usually invloves putting business first. Clinton may have not done that, but he didn't have to because of -the INTERNET- Clinton was living in a dream. No real business policy cause it was taking care of itself. But in the real world it has to be done. Take a few business classes, u idealistic twit.

So I "threw my vote away" with voting green. That's the message the media portrayed this last election. But lets face it, the bottom line not who did what to the environment but rather how can I make the money. Why the hell do you think there are lobbyists. If the government were in the business of doing thinks the right way instead of focusing on the money, it would be set up quite differently. This country is one big business and the government makes the rules for that business. In a perfect society there would be no need for a government at all. Everyone would know their role in society and do the right thing. I don't agree with big government but there are some stupid fucks out there that try and take in excess of their freedoms. So in contrast, the government is set up to serve as a guide for the ignorant and malicious people.
One recent event blatantly comes to mind. The ruling of the supreme court denying cancer and AIDS patients the access to marajuana. These people are dying of some of the most horrible diseases and yet our government (never wrong, always right until a super power like china puts us on the hot seat) lacks the decency to understand their pain. THEY DON'T CARE! Seems to me the only reason not to allow these people the right medicate themselves with tetrahydrocannabinol is so the pharmaceutical companies will be able to make a profit. Another scenario could be that they want to reserve the right to be able to prescribe a drug that will ease their symptoms while disentigrating their functionality organs and still make a profit. This would certainly be one solution to overpopulation. Which brings up another point.. the more pollution you have the higher mortality rate of a given set of people. This could very well be the predator humanity has been needing to to keep our numbers down, our own government. More.. but ill let it stir a bit longer.

I remember too in grade school when they told us the earth was mostl likely entering another ice age.

Of the total content of green house gases, may has only released 5%. 5%! Since the industrial revolution we have released 5% of the content of the atmosphere.

The problem is that people make crisis for everyone else, because it makes them money. There are no irregularities in weather patterns according to soil, ice, and tree samples. The weather fluctuates, big deal.
In another generation people will be used to seeing the weather as it is, then when it cools down again I suppose all those gases will be known as mirror gases. For they reflect all the suns heat away now, for some reason. And again people will believe, and someone will get rich.

Drill, drill, drill! I hate paying $2/gallon for gasoline. High gas prices are detrimental, runoffs at gas stations have skyrocketed in columbus. Nearly all gas stations, unless you use a card, is pay first, pump later now. Those that aren't will be soon. Gas stations rely on insurance to cover those costs, so now their rates are up, and so inflation continues, you think they really want to eat thoses costs incurred?

People seem to be focusing only on the drilling issues Bush has said, but more reccomendations on his list cover conservation and alternate sources of energy than continued drilling. I think it's a good idea, and probably what I think I would have done if in his shoes.

How would you guys handle it?

New oil extraction techniques and even mining really isn't that bad. Hell the Alaskan piple line was supposed to destroy all of Canada and Alaska, it's all still there, and it's all still ok. There can exist intelligent extraction that isn't horribly expensive. Steam extraction for example is pretty damn clean. Force steam in, crude comes out, an overflow is provided that goes right back in to the oil resevoir.
At the end you have a hole in the ground full of water, the damage?

I've heard rumor of there being a lot of crude in the northwest as well. I have seen oil dereks in Ohio, and I've heard that Lake St. Mary's, the largest man made lake, used to have so many dereks one could walk across the 10mile long, 3mile wide lake in any direction on these dereks. I'm sure that's an exaggeration, but there were quite a few. Only one is still in the lake, and it's operable.

Environmentalists are dumb, people that are full steam. They bitch about everything, no fossil fuels, hydro is bad, bio mass still produces green house gases, and nuclear is a big no no. So they leave us with solar, which all cells contain PLASTIC (guess where that comes from). Solar still needs supplimental power and takes a long time for it to pay itself off. About $20K to get started and expect to replace the $4K batteries every 4-5yrs. Free power my ass.

I can agree with Lokil, to them there is no answer that is satisfactory. I like nuclear power, 3mile Island was not that bad, the safety systems worked, NO ONE was injured. Chernobyl? That was in Russia where no one cared about their jobs, what do you expect?
Waste? Bury it like we have been, it's not hurting anything. I'd love to have a back to the future car, equipped with a Mr. Fission, We have enough trash to never have to worry about power again.

"Waste? Bury it like we have been, it's not hurting anything."

This is the one thing I can see as a possible sticking point.. a minor fuckup in how the buried waste is packed (more likely the more nuclear power is used), and suddenly you have a seriously fucked up area (of varying size depending on the effect of the fuckup).

Overall, though, nuclear kicks the hell out of everything else if used properly. Put the plant in the middle of nowhere, just in case (like with Three-Mile Island), and let's ride the reduced costs and increased energy closer to being debt-free as a country.

Yes, The Real, not to mention that nuclear technology has fine tweaked itself since that 70's

We bury it in BFE, who cares what happens to it. So long it stays underground, it's packed in glass and graphite enclosed, it ain't going anywhere soon.

Yes! Detoante a nuclear device underground...that will make a giant glass encasement that will be incredibly thick, then we can store nuclear waste or even landfill waste as we wish.

Or it will trigger earthquakes, volcanoes, ect. But then again if we are stupid enough to do that then we deserve it. I was just wondering if basic environmental studies is a high school requirement? How about just a geology class? Just wondering.

Been said before. Before every nuclear test ever. doesn't happen though does it. 1000's of tests carried out, no quakes.

Kameron, I wasn't referring to nuclear testing, but Lokil idea of making large underground "storage" for toxic waste and landfill use. It doesn't matter how much closet space you have in your house, eventually you are going to run out of room for it all.

Yeah, but Nadra, the "nature" of waste is going to change tremendously. It's going to be cleaner and more efficient.
