Default Respectable waiting period after a relationship - fuck the slut.

So I know after a long relationship it's respectful to wait a while before jumping into a new relationship. But since my ex was a slut she doesn't deserve any respectful treatment.

The issue at hand is I've met a new girl. Well I met her a while back, and felt sparks but I was still with my ex. She tried kissing me at a party but I turned her down politely and told her I was taken. She's a good friend of my closest friend so he's told me he will sabotage any attempts I make until I can promise him I wont hurt her (deliberately) or fuck her over. Which is why he's a good mate.

I'd be weary of a girl who broke up with a boyfriend of 4 years just a few weeks ago. So I was wondering even if I'm ready now, what's a good respectable time to wait before going for this new girl so she doesn't have worries about my ex?

I feel ready now (which is all that should matter). But it hasn't even been a full month yet since my breakup. This girl was really nice and I don't want to "fuck and chuck" or any of that bullshit.

Why wait?

You broke up, it's not like you need her approval to start dating again.

Try being honest with the new girl, and tell her the situation.

Yeah this basically. If you feel ready then just explain it to her. If you're not ready, or feel like you should for her sake wait a little longer, then do that.

Whenever you feel ready to separate yourself from your last relationship and move on and truly start a new relationship without carrying over any of that baggage into your new relationship. The amount of time that takes depends on you, and on the situation. And it should be entirely about you; you shouldn't even be thinking about what is appropriate or respectful, you should be thinking about what feels right and what you think will make you the happiest.

If you feel you can't tell her the situation without her being immature about it, what is the point in dating her anyway? So just tell her exactly what happened, how you feel now, and where you want to go.

ya, I was going to say "whenever you're ready", but this is basically the same thing in female form.

As long as you're not getting into this relationship to spite your bitchass cunt of a girlfriend and you think you're ready, then go for the new girl, but take it slow. If you go too fast, she might assume you're just in for the pump and dump. Basically-what everyone else has said. Let her know your past and that you're in for a possible relationship.

I'm not. I have no communication with her or mutual friends.

I think it's nice that you've abandoned your whole "all wimmen r trix n hoez!" outlook.

And yeah...I don't think it would really matter if you got with the new girl, only because of the conditions of your last relationship. BUT LET'S NOT GO INTO THAT. Mad

There's no "respectable waiting period". There's no point in pretending.

I think it sucks, I liked you just fine that way. But now you're gonna get hurt and disappointed again, so you'll come back even bitterer, I can't wait! :D

Give it a shot. What's the worst thing that can happen? Be honest and upfront with her about it and see where things take you.
