The Man is using it to influence the populace to some benefit.

The purpose of YouTube is to piss me off, because when I want to hear/see a song I like, I can no longer just type in the title, because the first 20 trillion hits will be shitty versions of that song played by retarded five-year-olds in their living rooms.
