My GF and I started going out last year.

At first it was great; there was nothing wrong, and I was the happiest person alive. Now as the days wore on, and continue to fast forward until today, the only way I can truly find myself happy with her is while I'm drunk.

As bad as that may sound, it's true. We'll have a day to ourselves in which we plan out activities and shit for the day, and we see each other a couple times a week. Sure, we'll have fun, but I'm never happy anymore unless, as I said, while drunk. It's like I'm bored with her.

I don't know what to do anymore.

Well man, here's what I'd do. If you want it to be interesting then make it interesting. Try to get her to talk about things that interest you, or ideally both of you. I don't know how hard you've tried to make this work, but you'll probably have to put in at least a little effort.

Failing that, you can try seeing her slightly less so that you appreciate her more when she is around.

Failing that, you could try activities in which you don't have to speak, or buy her a ball gag.

Failing that, just break up with her man.

Chemistry is one thing that you can't fake. If you have to get drunk to enjoy her company, you should probably call it quits.

This - sometimes the chemistry just disappears, you know? I don't know if it's possible to bring it back but in my experience it isn't, and if it is, it's probably very difficult and not even worth it in the long-run.

OP, if you do find a solution to your boredom with this girl, how long do you plan on staying with her? 'Cause if after a year (which is a relatively short time in the field of "long-term relationships"), the fun has worn off, then I doubt it's going to last all that long.

When the challenge is gone and the cards are open? You wallow in the victory for a while, but then it becomes boring. Then you know it's time to redeal the cards and start the game over. And maybe next time, not let all the cards get open, and keep occasionally throwing in new cards face down to keep the excitement going?

Do you and her a favour and end it. Being thoughtful: imagine how hurt you would be if someone you loved and cared for was "bored" of you. Being shallow: why waste your time with someone that bores you? Yeh you might lose the ass on tap, but hey new ass will come along and new ass is always more exciting than old ass.
