Gimmie something good.
I needs me some new music.
To give you a better idea of the types of music I enjoy, my current heavy rotation is:
Mew
Bright Eyes
Death Vessel
Mum
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Elliott Smith
Seabear
Panic! at the Disco
Cat Stevens
The Mars Volta
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum
Help me in my search for good ass music? Also, if you've never heard of any of those acts... check that shit out.

Re: Gimmie something good.
Well, I had a friend who liked Elliott Smith, TMV and Sleepytime Gorilla Musem (along with all of Mike Patton's other bands), and he introduced me to Forgotten Sunrise (http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=rUJ2i8DnWfM)...

At the Drive In.
This is the band that I think you are looking for. At the drive in are a half post hardcore/ half psychedelic rock band. They split up, and two members formed a psychedelic rock band (omar and cedric, the mars volta) and the other three formed a post hardcore band (Sparta).
