This really pisses me off. What's the point?

With the exclusion of troll threads and spam (obviously), why is it some threads are just locked because they are in the wrong forum rather than being moved to the right one? I mean sure the poster needs to learn to get it right but it's not really encouraging new posters to stay if you say "wrong forum huuurrrrr" and close their thread. So why not just move the ones that shoukld be moved? Laziness?

Is it difficult to move a thread? Does the moon have to be lit to a certain point and the candles flickering at the perfect frequency?

It's because there are moderators in certain forums who get extremely butt-hurt if anyone moves a thread into "their" domain, regardless of whether it belongs there, and regardless of whether there's a need to make a big stink about it. Those are the moderators that need their assholes punted right out of the park, just out of principle, however, we already know that administration couldn't care less to address this issue. Add it the pile and call it a day.

Toothlessjoe, if you don't shut the fuck up I'm going to beat your scruffy little nerdy white ass. See that? I just threatened you with physical violence. I got two hot fists just steaming to beat the socialist out of your head. And rip that retarded piercing from your lip. I'm sure the entire god damn community would pay good money to see that shit happen.

The rules say: "try to be nice to everyone, if possible". You have left us no choice. Besides, beating the crap out of you will be well worth the 10 day ban.

Ok, you play "beat Toothlessjoe up on the Internet" and then we shall go about getting your ban when you're all tuckered out.

1) You couldn't teach me a lesson if you were the kind of Internet. (<--wtf lulz)

3) You're retarded if you think this thread had flow, conversation, intelligence or even content for that matter.

It's not even a proper bitch. Toothlessjoe needs to stop making threads in B&M every day. It's obvious that they're forced. He's just trying to bitch about shit he doesn't actually want to bitch about. The man is achin' to be a mod here and is trying to prove to everyone how he "contributes". What toothless needs to do is shut the fuck up. One way to do that is to beat the living snot out of him. In doing so, we would be actually doing him a huge favor as it would be a huge lesson in life for him.

Seriously, this thread is the worse I've seen here in years.

How many accounts do you need? It is a proper bitch, if it's not you go ahead and point out what makes one. Oh, let me guess:

"Bitching about something that actually bothers you"

Roll Eyes (Sarcastic).

You equate everything I do to me wanting to be a mod, so blow me.

It isn't a proper bitch because you're not really bitching at anything specific here. It's more of a question as to why certain mods don't just move threads instead of locking them. You do not ask questions in b&m! Mad

Back on topic:

If it belongs there what's the problem? Some people just need to get over it. Do they bring it up in M&A or what? In fact, are you even allowed to discuss what you read/witnessed in M&A without getting banned?

Don't shit your pants. I'm sure Meta will move it to H&S if that is the case. Well, he'll likely close and I'll have to remake it. As far as I am concerned it is a bitch, so stick to the topic or shut up. All you do is post for attention, you're not really bothered or angered by anything people post. This is the last time I'm going to respond to you in this thread.

Go take some more pictures of your dinner.

My dinner is better looking than your face. lolololololol

Also, what's this "posting for attention" crap? This thread was obviously a pathetic attempt at crying for attention. I mean, if I'm posting for attention as some of you retards are claiming, aren't I doing an awesome job at it? I mean, it's not like I have to post 10 50 page threads a day in here to get some attention, not to mention negative attention. No one likes you toothless. Spectral only likes you now because we have "beef". How sad. The only love you get comes out of conflict of interest. :o

Quoting is a no-no (but one of my favourite mods still managed to get away with it Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) ) and although talking in very broad terms about an issue in M&A isn't prohibited, explicitly stating that it's an M&A issue is most unwise. Having said that, there are some times when the best option is to keep your mouth firmly shut.

Do they bring it up in M&A or what?

No, we much prefer high drama topics.

Who was that? Link to their post if it hasn't been squandered.

So you just talk about me, DaGuru and Spectral then? Sounds like a riot.

Anyway, get involved. What is your stance on moving threads and closing threads, etc?

Unfortunately that would constitute directly criticizing a fellow mod in public.

Cranky tonight, aren't we?

Aside from the public criticism rule, that particular incident has already been discussed in M&A; my best efforts at getting the mod in question removed failed. Absolutely nothing will be achieved by my re-opening that old wound, apart from me getting my arse buried under a pile of shit.

They talk about things like if I really do have horns and a forked tail, or they'll opine on just how many small children I might have eaten that given day. Hey... when you got good enemies, who needs friends, huh? I'm telling my mother. Mad The nerve of these people!

Funny notion on M&A. I was in the process of browsing the forum when the "hacker" enigma modded me and I stumbled into M&A. I started replying in a bunch of threads, thinking I was in Spurious Generalities.

Conclusion: M&A needs a mod, asap. :o

And justly! No doubt. Absolutely no doubt. Hey. Nobody ever said the Big Bad Wolf was wrong in gobbling up Little Red Riding Hood, as she was unnecessarily inquisitive, nosy, and a downright trespasser. I probably would have done the exact same thing if I was in his shoes... well... there's no actual shoes.. just big hairy feet... but you get my drift, I'm sure.

That's not really true anymore. The issue came up just before Euda left.

I have no problem moving threads and I do quite often as do most mods I know of. I saw several that were moved when I come on today.

That said, I usually won't move threads to: HB, S&A and IFIOTW.

That's because usually the thread made is mostly a piece of crap anyway or is something that I know the forum gets all the time [like a DXM thread in BLTC]. If a person is good enough to make a decent thread, they usually know where to put it.

That's a bannable offense, apparantley...

No. It's a 3 point infraction.

You disappoint me, son. I thought you knew me better than that. I don't play favorites. I may not ban him, but I did infract him. The same as I would have done were it anyone else.

Strange. It's only when you start noticing Totseans disappearing without a trace that you really need to worry. Look for the empty candy bar wrappers and unfiltered cigarette butts at the location they were last seen, and that should give you enough of a tell that we've been there.

Anyhew, I can only speak for myself but on S&A I normally apply the following:

If it's total shite then it gets closed

If it's semi-shite or totally off beam and can't legitimately be sent elsewhere then it goes to NIMF

If it's an attempt at 'humour', a dumb question or general Ameritardyness it goes to HB.

The whole point of NIMF was so we had somewhere to move dumb threads instead of HB and not just close threads.
