All we do in our brief pointles existence here is to try and live the perfect life with as much positive as we can; which is impossible, there will always be bad things along with the good. Something in our DNA makes us seem want more and more, our greed apprears to have no limit. I think our greed is probably related to how we evolve and build resistance to certain conditions. We're always going to want more money, bigger house, bettter car, newest gadgets, etc.
