Being the "active" partner in a relationship
No, not pitching, fags. I mean the person that is more interested in it. You know, if there's a problem trying to find a way to resolve it. Thinking about the other person more than the other person thinking about you. Etc.
I guess it's sort of like being... emotionally submissive. Or something.
I'm like that, and it sucks. I wish I could be a bit colder and just do my own thing, but I can't.
Am I the only idiot who is dependent of their S.O.?
Bah...

Yes :(
I always feel like the other person isn't really interested as much as I am...self confidence issues perhaps. Not a good situation at all

Re: Being the "active" partner in a relationship
I've never really had that, but I have been on the other side of it and it can be awesome or it can be crap. It gets old really fast when one person is way more into you than you're into them. I don't know how to rectify that sort of situation. Be cooler?

I think I'm on equal footing if not the non-active one.
Your problem is you don't think your good enough for your girl. Fuck that shit. Your the man. You could have any chick you want, start acting like it.

Re: Being the "active" partner in a relationship
I myself am completely self-sufficient I only put as much into the relationship as the other does, but that's just me. That goes with thinking about them first. If I don't get the vibe she is doing it with me I will gladly return the favor. Sucks to be so cold hearted but I have been burned way too many times to know better.

Hey, I'm in your position too. It sucks loving and not being loved back as much. However if the other person is like that because they simple can't love as much as you can, they're actually the unfortunate one. But...if they can, just don't love you as much...well, it just plain sucks for us.:(

Re: Being the "active" partner in a relationship

Are you an active or passive partner?
Those are pretty much the best words I can think of to describe it.
I think in most relationships, there's an active partner and a passive partner.
The active partner:
Makes the first move
Is the first to fall in love
Loves more than they are loved back
Is the one who gets dumped in the end
The passive partner:
Is the one who gets asked out in the first place
Takes longer to fall in love
Doesn't love their partner as much as their partner loves them
Is the one who ends the relationship
Obviously this isn't the case with every relationship, but I've seen it alot.
Anyway, do you agree with this? If so, which partner would you consider yourself to be?
I know I'm definitely the active partner. Definitely. :o

Yeah, we are and we've been going out for around 2 years now...
I'm sort of pissed, but then again I know I'm the idiot who is not being a good boyfriend... even if that means being "the active" one.
We talked, she's angry, I'm not paying enough attention and she's right. There are a bunch of stupid little shit that she gathers and then she blows up. I've told her a couple times not to let it build up inside her, but it seems she can't change that...
Anyways, I talked to her calmly, I avoided conflicts and I told her to think about it so she cools her head.
Gah. Relationships.

No. That would be a big no-no right now. One of the things that made her angry is that she went to the gynecologist and I didn't tag along( she got mad that I didn't go because she felt as if it was important, everyone else had someone with them and well, some other personal things I rather not post) and I asked her about the contraceptive pills. So... I think I shouldn't. Plus she's on her period now.

I warned you. Twice.
And yeah, you could say I'm a pussy boy, Yoh. Still, I'm going to let her calm down and do my own thing for a while. Maybe she'll see that I'm not such an asshole as she thinks I am now. Or something.

Chichi calls you an asshole and you argue back. Your woman tells you your being an asshole and you try too hard to please her.
If you just hold out for a bit she'll probably back off a little. She'll say something along the lines of "Maybe I was a bit harsh but I just wanted you to know my feelings..." then you say "I understand your feelings and maybe I can be a bit difficult" then "I'm sorry" "I'm sorry too".
There. Argument over and you get the satisfaction of knowing you didn't have to do whatever she wanted.

That there is a good point.
As far as my girl goes, I'm going to let her cool down. Maybe the PMSing is contributing to the whole bitch factor. A well, some time away from each other can't hurt.
And obviously, this hasn't been the first time we've fought. Probably... the 3rd-4th. I know couples that fight much more often, so I guess it's normal.

Re: Being the "active" partner in a relationship
I suck at waiting, so I called her. We talked, this time more calm than the last and she agreed that she was being a crazypsychobitch, but that sometimes I make her feel as if don't care about her and that's when she gets mad and goes SSJ9. I admitted I was at fault in some aspects and decided to see each other later on, maybe tomorrow.
All is good.

Re: Being the "active" partner in a relationship
Someone always has to make the effort; however, if it feels like an effort, there's something wrong. It's not necessarily something wrong with the relationship, just something.
Being the active person in any sort of relationship isn't the easiest thing in the world, but there are worse things.

Couldn't have said it better than that. This is what happened in my last relationship. I was the active person and it wasn't too long until we both knew it. And it was when we both realized that she had to put an effort into just making me feel as if she cared about me that the relationship wouldn't work.
