Default Making Techno Music?

Alright so I enjoy techno music quite a bit. I would like to know if anyone on here knows how I can go about making my own songs. IE: What programs are good and whatnot. If someone has experience with this stuff that'd be awesome. Any help's appreciated.

You could purchase a kaosillator.
it produces different frrequency noises.
Couple it with phono leads , a laptop and audacity and your all set up to make "techno" music.
Further purchasing a Mini-kaos pad will enable you to distort the music you make.

fruity loops has MORE than enough to make techno. it does take some time to figure out how to use correctly. but it would suit your needs prefectly

Fl will produce something so basic.

If he's looking fo something to burn/play at parties/release then he will need at least the Kaossilator.

I recommended audacity because of the sheer easiness.

I have a close friend who's currently making 8-Bit chiptune using this method and it's working pretty damn good.

I never liked FL. Right now I use Logic Pro and Reason. I have a vst wrapper so that I can use any vst in Logic. The only plugins I ever actually use are Vanguard and Melodyne. Really, any program will do it. Try out some demos of some that you are interested in and find which one you like most interface-wise. I think Reason is the best sequencer out there but it's lack of plugin support is a little annoying. Logic is more complicated, but it can do EVERYTHING that you would ever need it to. It's all up to personal preference though. I can't stand FL Studio or Ableton but they are both very popular. It's really up to what you like.

Ableton Live 7, use this for production and for live performance. www.tomcosm.com for tutorials on how to use it.

Kaossilator- fucking shit
Kaoss Pad/KP Mini- good for live, but all the effects they provide can be done with a computer with a joystick plugged in.
Ableton Live 7- complicated as fuck but incredible for live performance as the name suggests duh.
FL Studio- Easy to learn, and whoever said it will only make basic stuff is obviously too retarded to use it properly. I make breakcore with it and it is amazing.
Renoise- an oldschool tracker with modern effects etc built in, good for chiptune

Oh and what type of techno do you want to make. A lot of people group a lot of electronica under the term techno when the music they are describing is not actually techno.

Electronic music amuses me. Because literally, anyone can make a decent song. It doesn't necessarily take musical talent or instrumental prowess.

Well obviously you don't know a whole lot about it then. Read. Learn.

If you ever get a chance to use Max/MSP you'll see that programming is not like playing an instrument, but it's just as hard and takes just as much patience. Not just anyone can make a decent song on that.
