Default Views on saving virginity for love?

Now, don't get me wrong. I'd fooled around with quite a few girls back in the day but I just refused to have sex unless i felt a... superior connection. I lost it at 17 to my now wife and I am entirely happy with my decision. How do you guys feel about saving it for love? (fooling around doesn't matter in my eyes though)

I'm very very glad I didn't save it for love. The first guy I loved left me for someone else and broke my heart, and I was totally gutted, but probably would have been even more gutted if I'd saved my virginity for love and then he'd done that to me, I'd feel like I'd wasted my virginity or something.

(And I would have missed out on years of shagging fun before I fell in love)

The fact is that sex means different things to people. It has no inherent value; it depends on how you were raised, your culture, and your individual experiences. Some people think sex is something to be enjoyed and not something that should be treated like some special gift or coming-of-age. Some people feel that sex is something that should be had with an emotional connection, something special and important. People shouldn't be trying to figure out whether or not it's okay to lose your viriginity in X situation or Y situation, they should be doing what feels right for them. Every opinion is as valid as the next when it comes to such a subjective and personal decision.

I don't really give a shit about it. I wouldn't love a girl any more if she saved it for me than if she'd slept with 50 guys before me.

Well... maybe a little bit more...

When your good and ready I think you should go at it. I disagree with sex before 14 just because you don't know what the hell love or any of that garbage truly is and means if that's the excuse. There is nothing wrong then waiting until you have found someone you truly are in love with. However there is that wait period of waiting too long (don't become 40 year old virgin) and experience is expected at a certain age. Try and get laid at least before 21 just so you have some grounds to fall back on.

However even while you get older in America you will soon realize "love" is but a figment of the imagination. I have seen a lot of good couples/marriages go down shit creek that I thought would never happen. Sex is WAYYY too over rated when your a virgin.

I choose when to give my virginity. Just because I fuck a bitch don't mean I give her anything except my jizz on her face.

This, pretty much.

I have a lot of respect for those who decide to wait and they probably save themselves a whole heap of heartache.

I also rail against the fem-nazi mythology that people MUST have sex before marriage to see if they are 'compatible'.

Idk I'd had the opportunity before but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. It's not the way i was raised- i pretty much raised myself, it was just kind of a personal thing that I had my heart set on. It's all worked out so far and I'm hoping for the best (for the future).

It was tough though, fuck.

god I hate people who equate sex to love. Its FUCKING you do not have to love someone to stick your dick in their pussy...thats as bad as girls getting emotionally attached once they "give" some dude some sex...

SEX DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN LOVE..

just fuck cause you want to not cause you think you "love" them...

why are people so prude?

Actually I believe I read somewhere that sex can lead to love. Something to do with the chemicals released in your brain during sex which lead to bonding.

yea in a womans brain, it triggers that...but not always..you might "have feelings" or "want more" ...but not ALWAYS love...I didnt love hardly anyone I fucked ..except..1 or 2.. of them..the rest was fun times not emo times.and my first was NOT out of love and I NEVER thought of it to be "love: just a dude I knew and wanted to try it with (he was 5+ years older)

I think it's fucking awesome that you did it and wish I could be in your situation. I've already given mine up. It was at the age of 20 and the girl was fucking awesome but... Things didn't end up well, that's how it goes. Now I'm 22 and I've only had sex with her..

In all honesty I have great respect for people who can hold out for 'true love', but in reality this is rarely ever the case. I held out for true love, or what I thought was true love at the time. I was only 16 and as naive as they come. No surprises that after about a year of dating this guy he cheated on me. I never saw it coming, and naturally I was devestated. I loved this guy, and when I think about it I do believe I loved him, I haven't felt anything close to how I felt about him sinse.

Of course afterwards I became a cynical bitch who hated the male gender, as you do, and decided that sleeping around would solve my problems and help me forget about him. It didn't. It just gave me a whole lot of emotional baggage, and a pretty bad rep amongst my friends... and amongst people I didn't know. The joys of growing up in a small town.

But in an answer to your question, I think its better to loose your virginity to someone you at least care a little for. It can be like a bonding exerience. Im a firm believer of losing your virginity to someone who is also a virgin, that way you don't feel so bad when you don't have any idea what you're doing, and you can learn with each other. But that's just me.

yeah.

idunno i personally believe in what I did but I just wanted to see how the shallow minds of &t felt. Truth be told, fucking = fucking and lovemaking = lovemaking, but I enjoy lovemaking the most... it's amazing imo.

Yep, when you have sex with a spouse/committed partner you begin to realise how shit unattached sex can be.

Alright, maybe not 'shit' but its like comparing a microwave burger with a cordon bleu veal escalope in a rich rich cream mushroom sauce. (and I LIKE microwave burgers...hot and satisfying).

You think? I thought it was pretty dumb. The usual brain washedness of our fem nazi society.

If a couple love each other then they'll figure it out and learning together is kinda the whole point.

I've slept with a lot of women whose sexual knowledge was a lot less than my own but it was never a problem. So what if she has no clue about all the things a boy and a girl can do in bed?

And there is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, more erotic than that shocked look on a naive girl's face, when she's stammers "p-p-people d-d-do that?! You want to stick it WHERE????!??". Gotta keep a girl like that.

I was always brought up around the Christian views that you shouldn't have sex before marriage. Now my belief in Christianity is almost completely down the drain and I would have sex if I had a girkfriend that would also have sex. My ex-girlfriend (my last ex-girlfriend) probably would have gone that far, but I was still in my Christian ways, and that was only a year ago, during the past 3 months my views have changed from not having sex until I get married to haveing sex if me and a girfriend I had would go through with it.

I think it's admirable that you would hold your beliefs in a high enough stead to turn down sexual offers, but it's a bit.. I dunno.. for want of a better word, chivalric for this era? Then again, it could also be an excuse for not losing your virginity at a late age. To be honest, I think it's probably a better idea to just get it out of the way when you are young.

I was thinking that, but I felt nothing for those girls. They were mere means of getting off, but sex.. idk to me it's a big deal. yaaa mean?

and about the bestfriend thing- she is my best friend now =p we spend pretty much all day every day together.

and I discovered the sweet comfort of the possibility of silence with someone and having it not be awkward.

I used to feel as if I was going to wait for 'the perfect girl' and the 'perfect time/place/ect' to manifest for spiritual reasons (not affiliated with any organized religion). Recently, however, I've realized that sex nothing more than a primordial act involving a cylindrical mound of fleshy matter repeatedly plunging into and out of a wet fleshy hole. If the basis of a relationship falls upon whether or not my 'partner' or I have had sex previous to the establishment of our relationship, said relationship is probably pretty shallow.
