Default Ecstasy - No longer the "club drug"

I've noticed that E is now more of a "weekend recreational" drug, with no raves or dancing involved - just a good time with a few friends. Has there been an increase or change in the use of E?

What do you do when you're doing E?

I've taken X numerous times and I've never gone to a rave. The closest thing to that was an outdoors halloween party with people spinning fire and run way models...

But aside from that I always just hang with my friends listening to music or laying in bed with my girl friend or my hand...

X just dosn't feel like it used to any ways. I'm on mescaline right now wich feels comparable but way more relaxed than any X i've ever taken

Default Re: Ecstasy - No longer the "club drug"

I've never been to a rave or nightclub so it should seem fairly obvious I've never done X in such a location.

My ideal environment is either in an uncluttered room listening to music (similar to a club I guess) with a few friends and maybe a bit of dancing or just rolling with one of a few lady friends and having a night of passion. :)

As my interest in the rave scene dithered, so did my interest in MDMA and pills. I only ever took the stuff at free parties in fields and such. It's too messy to take before you hit some pubs, and most clubs are too shit to take it in. Fuck staying in and taking it though - I'd rather not take it. Ket seems to be the new rave drug around here. There is loads of the stuff around here though - it's easier to find than weed or coke.

I used to be into the whole club scene when I was a bit younger, never really enjoyed it all that much; just nothing else to do.

These days, if I decide to roll (not all that common, any more) I'll usually just chill out with some friends at my place/their place(s).

I'm no longer into the clubbing thing, but my brother is - and he tells me that the drugs that are most prevalent in the clubs he frequents are GHB, meth and DOI/DOB.

All that said, whilst I think that E is slowly detaching itself from the rave/club stereotype, I'm sure that it still is, and always will be popular amongst ravers and in club situations.

I just had some idiot try to sell me some "Bad Ass E" for $3 a pill. I tried to advise him he was an idiot, but not suprisingly he was oblivious. "Nah dude, this shit is kick ass. I been doing it all weekend" (it was Friday night). I couldn't tell if he was high or retarded.

Its quite good for parties in fields with some music on, but ketamine seems to be stepping into the club scene more these days. Suits the change of music pace - the heavier, thicker bassier feel of Dub Step, or even the subtleties of minimal techno.

im very inexperienced with ketamine had it only once and that was by mistake but how the fuck can it be the next 'club drug' when all its does is take you to another place, enjoyable as it may be, while you stand/lie they're like a complete fucking r r r rrreeeeettaaaaaaaarrddddd?

you cant dance on it, you cant communicate on it so wtf? i can see it now, in a couple of years time the danc clubs that were once full of pill popping hyper go-go dancing pill heads will be full of wooden semi comatose ket heads saying and doing nothing. what fun.

I used to go to a shit load of raves, I also used to do a shitload of ecstasy.

I think there was a correlation.

Ecstasy is still alive, well, and thriving over here.

So he was retarded for thinking they were "bad ass" yet he was presumably completely e-tarded and didn't know the day...maybe that's a good reflection on the quality of those rolls...the kid was out of his head from taking em....Seems to me like you just passed up some crazy rolls

ya i have been noticing that lately too, yes it is still popular in raves but i am noticing an increase of people jus popping sum E's and chillin at home with their friends. kinda like pot-heads but more active and talkative and thinner. young users seem to be on the rise too. i have also noticed Special K is somewhat common amung ravers now-a-days.

I've only used it for raves a few times. It is fun to dance on E, but after a while it loses most of the fun.
Now I usually just hang out with a few friends maybe go to a party. At least when I do tthat, I'm garunteed to be around peope I like.
I've still found that raves are one of the best places to get E due to avalability at those places, but I don't necesarily take it there.

E is still a huge part of the rave scene but I think for a lot of more people there is more than just E at raves. Personally I love a bit of MD at a rave but I love being sober or slightly tipsy from a few beers just as much. Other people prefer different drugs, you see a lot of ket, coke, and a small scattering of RCs. One thing I really dont see or hear much of at all is LSD.
E hasnt always just been about clubs and raves, such an amazing drug has so many different uses from dancing the night away, chilling with some mates, or even going for a walk on your own or with someone close and just plain enjoying the world.

I love that about E, the way speech flows and you feel comfortable to talk about absolutely anything. Some people talk complete bolloks on E but iv had some insanely deep meaningful conversations with people im close to as well as complete strangers. Iv learned more about myself and people on E than any other drugs mainly down to the fact that everyone is still on the same kind of level and has at least some self control over what they are saying and thinking.

I have used quite a bit of ecstasy and have not been to one rave or club in my life. I have been to two concerts on MDMA and that is it.

I would say 75% of the time I have used MDMA was with 1 or 2 other people, and 25% at a party.

idk it just sounds retarded and fake... oh lets go buy some random ass pill, then take it not knowing what it is, and if it is ecstasy then we can like feel shit with our hands, suck on pacifiers/penises, look at glowlights, dance, artificial social bonding and hug each other... idk just doesn't sound appealing to me at all compared to other drugs. plus i despise amphetamines

I stopped taking SSRIs when I was 16. I'm 19 now, and I've only just been able to properly enjoy E within the last six months. Granted, before that six months, I didn't take it for a long time, but the point is this: you have to wait a pretty long time. Sorry :(.

I never stayed home when I rolled. I'd rather go out and dance.

I was surprised, too. I'm not an overly large fan of the DOx drugs - not saying they're crap or anything, just not my cup of tea. But I've heard from numerous people that they are becoming increasingly prevalent in the club scene, or at least, the club scene in my location. I can't honestly confirm this one way or the other, since, like I said before - I'm not into the whole club/rave thing, but there's been quite a few instances where I've been in town on a Friday/Saturday night pub-crawling, or going home, or whatever - and people have come up to me and have offered to sell me DOx. Whereas before (going back maybe a year or two) the only thing being offered was E, coke, acid and crystal. I don't mean that you couldn't get anything else, but they were among the most commonly offered/sold substances.

Might be unique to my area, not so sure, but the popularity of the DOx chems and GHB are increasing. On the same token though, it's virtually impossible (well, not impossible, but difficult) to procure PCP in my area. I don't say this to make myself sound better than I am or anything, but I have quite a few contacts who can get pretty much anything - and I've seldom, if ever, been able to get PCP.

Odd.

I agree about taking MDMA alone at home, that's a bit of a waste. I don't really think it's worth depleting your serotonin for a few days just for a solitary empathogenic experience -- the whole point is the connection to other people. Might as well go for a few psychs instead.

The people I've spoken to only seem to find ketamine and a few other drugs preferable to do alone.

For me, E is fun to do with just a couple close friends (of course, they don't have to be rolling), though I actually think it's very fun to take E alone. You explore a lot of feelings, and you have no anxiety about them... because you're by yourself. I know being alone and doing E is more or less the antitheses of the drug's meaning, but... I enjoy it.

And yeah, K is best enjoyed alone -- unless a big group is doing it, in which case it's just sloppy nonsensical fun ;).

I dropped my first E when I was 14. From then until I was 18 I only ever popped like as a weekend thing, with my friends or whatever. I would even pop and just go to my girlfriends house.

When I turned 18 I went to my first rave. Now I ONLY pop at raves. Been going every month for over a year. It's just not the same to me without the heavy bass and the lights....fucking drum and bass rooms...just thinking about it makes me want to go right now. Anyone in the SF bay area knows the rave scene here is fucking sick if you know where to look.

I've never went to a rave. The times i did E i chilled in a friends room listening to music and smoking mad cigs. I also drove while peaking one time which wasn't too hard. My point is, driving on E is fun and you should do it.
