does anyone else get this with weed?
I'll try and keep this as simple as possible.
Whenever I'm high, I see things from a different perspective. Obviously that happens to everybody. But specifically I see myself from a different perspective. I become really self-conscious. Its like seeing myself from the third-person, not literally as if I'm floating outside of my body or something, but in terms of how I perceive myself. It's not something that I can really ignore because its very inherent to my consciousness when I'm high. I don't have to start pondering or even think in words, is just kind of there. It's more like intuition then actual thinking. I'm constantly aware of my appearance, exactly how I look, and what other people think of my appearance and what they think of me. It's as if I can see myself from the perspective of other people. I see myself for exactly how and what I am, like all of the 'filters' or 'buffers' I normally have are taken away, and reality is just lying bare. And it's really not good. It's not just some trippy feeling or something, it feels totally real. I feel like everybody veiws me as different to everybody else, as less then everyone else, no one takes me seriously or respects me at all, I'm must some inadequate, half crazy weirdo who has an inherent inability to have a realistic understanding of things. Kind of like if I was retarded, and everybody knew, but obviously when they talked to me, they didn't make a show of it or anything and just try and communicate with me. Only people don't really think I'm retarded, just really weird and 'not all there' and an inherently socially inept person who's just naturally a misfit in society. I hate looking in mirrors when I'm high because I'm so self conscious, but I stare at myself in the mirror when I'm high anyway and I can't really help it. I feel like alot of people talk about me behind my back, I even see and hear what people say about me and stuff in my head, and the way they talk about me. I feel like some other people, like close freinds, don't really talk about me behind my back as much, but just have their own private perceptions of me inside themselves, and it is always that I am inherently inadequate in some way.

The only way to get past it is to understand that the perception you are feeling is just an illusion. Constantly ask yourself, "Am I conscious, or self conscious?" You also get this because you are insecure. And the first step in getting past it is to accept it. Once you accept something it no longer remains a threat.
Another factor is your mindset right before you smoke. Be happy! Not a fake happy, but a deep, emanating happiness that you can't think about. Just feel it. Feel content with the world, and everything about it. Be grateful for the precious body you have. Be grateful for the air you have to breathe. Just... be.
It will pass with the more weed you smoke too.

Re: does anyone else get this with weed?
Good weed generally gets my mind running a mile a minute. I think about all sorts of things when I'm high, analysis of myself and others included. If you keep doing it every time you smoke, it sounds like you have some insecurities you need to work through. Remember that bud heightens paranoia and suspicious thinking though, and remember that everybody thinks things like that from time to time.

90% of the weed I buy is a high grade sativa and I defiantly gets my mind running crazy. Before I started smoking I never thought weed was a stimulant, but I really does get me going; then I crazy/get lazy.
Paranoia was really common for me when I first started.

Btw, the type of weed and strength really depends on paranoia; however, it's mostly how much experience you have.

Don't listen to this... sure its fun every now and then to just chill with a bowl and play some video games or something- but if you're going to smoke weed, I recommend fucking DOING something besides sitting on your lazy ass. I suppose do whatever makes you happy, but do you really want to waste your entire high staring at a tv screen?

this guy gets it! That deep emanating happiness is so easy to attain if youve got a decent life, and the right mindset..... but for some reason many people with no real problems focus on bullshit instead of being grateful for the privelige of even existing in this absurd universe....
and OP: ive felt things like this a few times before, but then i realize, shittt....paranoia can create almost any situation in our minds...doesnt mean that situation even exists, and if its something youll never be sure of, whats the use in worrying?

Re: does anyone else get this with weed?
I still get paranoia after years of smoking, it doesn't just go away. In my case, it actually got worse.
OP: If weed is that bad for you, maybe you shouldn't smoke it. If this was your first time or something, it might get better. However, if you've tried it three or more times and it gives you this much trouble, either quit or take a really long break. And by "long break", I mean four months minimum. A long break can give you a new and better experience on a drug, if you take a short break it's just going to be the same old shit all over again.

Why are you trying to make him feel stupid? He's surprised because he doesn't hear of other people sharing the same experience and he thinks it's out of the ordinary, which is why he posted. Any more questions for the OP? Jackass.

Re: does anyone else get this with weed?
I haven't smoked in over four months. The last several times I've been high this has happened, and by several I mean alot, because when I have weed I smoke it all the time. In terms of quantity it takes barely anything for me to get high. I think I'm naturally sensitive to it. If I smoke a tiny amount it makes me happy, if I smoke a few cones it brings on the craziness. Maybe I just need to increase my tolerance or something.
The times I've done DXM I've had similar effects to what I described in the OP but much, much worse. Maybe I just need to stay away from psychadelic type drugs.

Re: does anyone else get this with weed?
Haha, when I first started smoking dro after smoking.. bad weed..
I got pretty much verbatim what you posted.. every time I smoked.
It was overwhelming sometimes. Especially with girls there. I would look in the mirror.. and look really closely at my face and be like.. "oh my god oh my god do i have a unibrow" and see 2 little hairs and i'd be like.. "oh my god. I've been walking around like this. no wonder people have been looking at me weird. oh my god. how am I gonna go back?"
and basically any situation with people, i would think they were trying to ditch me and just wander off randomly or something..
those weren't the days.. i used to be such a sketched out unconfident paranoid motherfucker..
i can't remember exactly when it stopped happening but it wasn't all at once.. now i am pretty normal when i'm stoned, no one can really tell unless i smoked a blunt or something..

Use this to your advantage. Think things through properly from end to end. Of course, if you can remember after you've sobered up.

Not an acolyte.
Also, I think you are just experiencing paranoia.
How often do you smoke? That's a big factor..

I know exactly what you mean. Although my insecurities wouldn't usually be about my looks. More about my personality or what I was saying. I would feel like that everytime I smoked weed for a very long time. But I was addicted to it, so I just kept smoking even though it wasn't that fun for a long time. But I just quit two weeks ago, and I feel very good. :)

It happens to me too. Shit sucks and can really fuckin mess with you after a point.
You should stop smoking weed. Hard drugs usually make you feel better about yourself ahaha
But really though I don't suggest hallucinogens. You're more than likely going to get this shit and it's going to suck real bad.

That's how all thought on weed is mate. Your head moves in ideas and concepts, rather than in words.
The whole rest of your post can be summed up with the word p-a-r-a-n-o-i-a. Either you could stop smoking weed, or you could get used to it.

Re: does anyone else get this with weed?
Ok, this comes partially from paranoia - but the paranoia is caused from the marijuana's stimulus on your brain. Marijuana, if you concentrate on one thing you will perceive it from every possible perception and if you don't see a certain perspective a friend (if high) can explain it to you. This causes a euphoric feeling of genius.. I cant even count how many times me and my friends solved world hunger.
More so pertaining to what you said about being self conscious: If you talk to someone that isn't high.. you will most likely not get along so great.. because you're going to misinterpret their feedback... First thing you'll ask is why did they say that? and what did they mean by it? You have to learn not to over analyze things in your head.. just let it be.
(situation) (me and you are high)
If i was to look you in the eye right now with no expression and say "why would you ask a question like that?" Your brain would have an initial harmless perception of that sentence and then you would start to analyze the information more and more until you see the question as demeaning as if i was talking down to you - when in fact, its just a simple question,.. This could explain why you get the "inherently inadequate" feeling
Things that you can do to help this type of stuff. One - When ever youre feeling someone is looking at you weird.. just laugh or if you're talking to someone and you feel they have PERCEIVED what you've said wrongly.. just say.. "i didn't mean it like that.. don't over think it." ALSO just smoke with your close friends.
You'll learn to come out of it, I can control it now. Although the self conscious part is kinda weird, i never wondered what people though i looked like, just mainly their perception of the things that i said.
Advanced Communication/Reaction Theory:
I also have a theory about communicating when you are High, I feel that when 2 people talk when they are high its on another, much higher level of understanding. I recorded me talking to a friend who was also HIGH. and later played the recording back, it was INSANE.. we understood each other on a different level - where if someone was to just hear us talking - it would sound like another language to them.
I dunno if this helped.. but just my experience..

Sure: one can easily over-emphasize the good & the bad about anything when high. Does not mean that there is not any truth about what you perceive though.
Do you revel in your abandon & shitheadinesses?

Re: does anyone else get this with weed?
Yo! OP! I'm really glad that you said this! HOLY SHIT! I have pretty much the same thing, however, only with upper quality buds. It's almost just a horrible sense of everyone knowing EVERYONE of your flaws. It does come from insecurities, this I know. Take a few days off of smoking (Just one or two), and think about thinking high. (I hope that makes sense) Think about how it feels to think while high and try to think about why you feel that way, I must stress, do this while sober. Otherwise, it just turns into a blackhole that eats all thoughts/beliefs. Atleast, in my experience. Next time you get those paranoid thoughts, just inwardly laugh as loud as you can to yourself, and it acts as a "reset" button if you will.
Best of luck to you man.
