I'll stay up late most nights as I am apt to do what with my young supple body and unwillingness to surrender to the night. I stay in my room until I decide to go for a midnight snack, which is quite the joyous occasion. But my parents seem to wake up every fucking 30 minutes, one or the other, then come out to the kitchen, walk around for a minute or smoke a cigarette, and then go back to bed. Rinse and repeat all god damn night long, before they decide to get up for the day between 2:30 AM and 4 AM. Then they start talking loudly as I am trying to sleep. Our house is so small and my door is hollow, so there is no escape.

But yeah, I'll be standing in the kitchen eating...cheese and crackers or some shit, and they'll come out and just STARE at me like they can't believe this is happening. Then ask me what I'm eating, come over and look at it like they were expecting fucking prime rib. Then STARE at me some more before going back to bed for another few minutes.

They just can't decide how to tell their wonky kid how you're all going to be, "Son? You know that overpass out past the Target? Well...we've lost everything & that's where we'll all be living after New Years..." :(
