 Buying a home stereo for $400AUD
What would you advise, should i go second hand, local tader, cash converters, harvey norman, or what?
What kind of setup should i get, most music will be played off my computer at roughly 258-320kps.
any advice welcome

I've bought great stereo parts from thrift stores, costing me anywhere between $5.00 and $15.00 USD.

Buy a set of Logitech x-530/ x-540.
They're pretty good for only $100-150 AUD.
