Adderall/Amphetamine Salts Nasal Spray (?)
This is all for curiosity's sake, first of all. And I'm not sure if it belongs in Lab Tips or not...
I'll keep this simple; the Merck Index reports amphetamine sulfate to dissolve in water at a ratio of 1 to 8.8...ie., 1 gram of amphetamine sulfate to 8.8 grams of water. Adderall is, according to what I understand of it's formulation, 1/2 sulfate, with the one quarter of that half being from dextroamphetamine sulfate and the other being from racemic l-amphetamine.
So I know for sure that the sulfate is water soluble...and I'm pretty sure that the other two (saccharate and aspartate) are as well. So here's the question; is it plausible to think that performing a CWE on an amount of Adderall IR tablets and using the resulting "clean" product in a liquid solution that could be used in a nasal spray would work? As in, say, 500 mg of "clean" Adderall product in 4.4 mL of water? What I have in mind here is one of those 15 mL Afrin/etc. spray bottles.
I'm not the brightest bulb by any means when it comes to chemistry so please excuse any errors you might come across here and know that your corrections, with or without the inclusion of a statement pertaining to what a moron I am, are appreciated.
