Holding Animals hostage for Fun and Profit.
Is it legal to hold a rabbit, kitten, armadillo, or any other small furry creature hostage on the internet for a ransom?
I would probably run ads on craigslist and then have the donations made to a paypal account. I know this has been done and the web masters made ridiculous sums of money. One made 71,000 euros in Germany. Another made 25,000 USD. Is this legal? Feasible? GTFO?

Re: Holding Animals hostage for Fun and Profit.
Actually, a friend of one of my friends did something similair to this. He did find a dog with its tags on (contact information of the owner). He held onto the dog for about a week until he noticed that a reward was being offered for it, then he called up, said he found their dog (which he did). He collected around $200.
I suppose you could do roughly the same thing but go around and steal peoples animals, then wait for rewards to be offered. Calling up the owners and saying 'we have your cat and demand $1000 before it's released' is probably not the best idea though.

Eh I'm not really into stealing someones beloved pet. This would all be pretty much a hoax/scam. I probably wouldn't even get a cat or whatever. I would just take pictures of a friend's cat. It would hopefully target the bleeding heart vegetarians and hippies. Eh just a thought.

You are going to place an ad on craigslist of your friends cat and say something along the lines of "give us $20,000 or else we're going to kill this cat"? Just making sure I understand it correctly.
When you fail to reach your $20,000 goal and no evidence that you actually followed through on your threat is given (proof of you killing the cat) no one is ever going to believe you again, and say good bye to pulling this scam off again...

Well that's why I'm here... I was looking for some advice on how I could better my rough draft of a plan.
Check out the website <www. savetobey .com> and there's another German version too.
Anyway they were rather successful; I imagine I'm going to have to get my very own website and not utilize craig's list.
