yeah dude. i extracted and smoked some. it's really hard to talk about though since i have no point of comparison with anything you might have ever experienced. i think it's like dying, but i can't say for sure because i've never died... i can tell you that it isn't for the faint of heart, the weak minded, the crazy, or anyone not ready to see the great beyond. i honestly can't say that i was ready. nothing will prepare you for a break through on this shit. it's interesting; i've taken lsd, shrooms, and the like and i can tell that i'm just tripping. and i've taken a box of benadryl and when it wears off i know for sure i was tripping. but with this stuff, i can't really say for sure that i was tripping-but i can't say for certain it was real. i saw something so totally different from anything in my craziest dreams, superimposed over what seemed to be the truth of all truths. after i realized i was back in my body the only thing i could say was what the fuck?!???!!!??!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!! and the only thing i could think was that there are just some things humans shouldn't know about. it reinforced my opinion that we're meant to be stupid and live and die in this beautiful garden as natural primates. it helped me see beauty in places i would of never imagined. it reinforced my faith in our god, it made me get over the evil of humanity and realize that i will very soon die and move on. as of the last 6 months my view of my world and myself has been slowly falling apart; my science courses weren't giving the answers i was looking for, my phil course put some REAL, metaphysical questions in my head, my research into meditation and the religions helped me find god, and then dmt came a long and shot me with a nice big dose of 'you don't know a fucking thing'. i went from scientist to philosopher in half a year.

i broke through on black friday 08. haven't had a desire to do it since, maybe in a year or something. i feel special, like i'm one of the few that have died and lived to tell about it...

did my original post help at all? i don't think many people on totse have ever tried dmt, people have a misconception of what it is and they're just looking to get loaded-so dmt isn't really something desired by most. i can't say that i would want to try something that is known for it's difficult experiences. also dmt is hard to come by since it's hard to find clientele for a drug that people tend to never ever fuck with again after their first time. a lot of people that can't buy it don't have the sense or resources to extract it themselves. you're better off reading http://dmt-nexus.com/doc/DMT-The-spirit-molecule.-.by.Rick.Strassman.pdf to get a better understanding of what exactly this shit is than listening to some dude that heard you see shit on it and tried it. my advice to you is to make sure you don't have any sort of crazy in your family, meditate or do something to chill you out, try to keep in mind that you have not died, and read up on smoking technique and hit that fucker until theres no way you can physically hit it anymore(3 fat lung fulls usually does it). imho this is sacrament with potential to open your eyes the fuck up. it has an incredibly long history of use for spiritual and physcial healing; it pisses me off when i hear these clowns talking about it that dont really know whats up.

Just out of curiosity, can DMT be dissolved as a salt, put in an spray bottle, and then just be inhaled as a solution in mist? I hear a lot about the harshness of DMT smoke, so if that could alleviate the sensation, it might be worth trying.

I thought this might be the case. I figured that the harshness was caused either by a poor interaction between DMT and lung/oral tissue or just the hot smoke of DMT, filled with course semi condensed particulates. Apparently it is the former.

I found an article a few months ago on erowid regarding 5-MeO-dmt in salt form being absorbed in vapor, and inhailed. Here is a trip report, and further information.
