While we hear alot about stabbing and how bad the charver culture is over here, the area I live in is nowhere near as dangerous as it was a decade ago - people getting shot, houses getting robbed of everything inside, cars on fire on main roads

A lot of people probably start off with the old "I think it's OK to steal from Big Rich Companies like Walmart or an Insurance Co." Then they slip into stealing from regular people like friends/relatives/strangers.

How many people borrow money/things & just never pay back or return said things? Quite a "good" way to increase one's income...to some. It's not a new thing, but it will probably get worse with the recession. It's not just a "thing" that hard-done-by minorities do either.

Plenty of well off middle class white kids from the 'burbs are no paragons of virtue either.

Because for some odd reason people cringe at words like ethics and morals(especially dumbass nihilists) because the church has had a monopoly on them for so long. Preach ethics and you're suddenly preaching that you have to communicate on your knees telepathically to a gaseous vertebrae in the sky that sent a son over who died and rose from his grave like a zombie and now you have to eat his flesh, drink his blood, and wear a miniature execution device on your neck as you accept him as your savior.

I agree with religious people that there is an ongoing lack of morals in society(but definitely not the sexual ones. there's nothing immoral about sex). It's a natural shift as religion's influence slowly dwindles year by year with a few radical attempts at making a comeback. The problem is abuse is abusive people are still out there, liars, cheaters, thieves, misanthropes and nihilist faggots are still out there and without Scientology or Jesus or muhammed to battle their self-justifications, who will(omg you're going to hell if you keep doing faggy nihilist shit! Ok now stop it)? I believe we can achieve a more moral society through secular, atheist means.
