Vote for marijuana
http://change.gov/page/content/openforquestions
The poll ends tonight. He will answer the top questions. At the moment, the question is ranked at number 4. make it number one.
An effort being led by members of Shroomery, Dailykos, Grasscity, Marijuana.com, and other notable websites is currently under way to push for a marijuana related issue to reach the top of Obama's new Web 2.0 policy website. On this website, users can ask questions, and the top questions will likely get answered by Obama and his staff. Up to this point, there has been very little organized involvement on issues on Obama's new site. However, marijuana activists are some of the first ones to make a strong push to get their voices heard. This Marijuana related question went from 200 votes to 1600 and went from question #240 to question #11 in just a day. With more activism, this issue can be front and center on Obama's official website, change.org.
To be a PART of this news, I urge all of you to do the following:
1) Go to http://change.gov/page/content/openforquestions and register. It is very easy, you don't even need to check your email to verify.
2) Now go to the page two (or, if by the time you read this, if it is on the front page, page 1) and vote this question up:
"Will you consider legalizing marijuana so that the government can regulate it, tax it, put age limits on it, and create millions of new jobs and create a billion dollar industry right here in the U.S.?"
3) Watch as it climbs to the front page, and wait for Obama's answers.
4) Post on ALL other marijuana forums and email it to friends who care about this issue.
Enjoy watching Obama answer this question and feel good about your political involvement.
Post this everywhere!!!!

Re: Vote for marijuana
Fuck that stupid site (change.gov... CHANGE.GOV?? what a dumb name) and fuck trying to get weed legalized. Guess what, you'll still have to do drug tests for other drugs at various times for jobs, etc and they'll probably still fire you for doing weed.
Why?
Because everyone knows stoners are self-important losers that go nowhere in life because ultimately they're lazy pieces of shit that most likely indulge in other illegal vices.
In b4 'I KNOWZ A LAWYER WHO IZ A STONER'
And I loled @ the 'will create new jobs' bullshit.
I'll bet my buttons that your little 'savior' won't do jack shit for the economy nor drug legalization. You'll never win hippies. You'll never win.

weed should be legalized, just like alcohol is. There's no way of stopping it and people will do it no matter what

Ignorance is bliss, I suppose....
You start off your argument with a completely ignorant statement, kudos.
You follow up with an assumption, a lousy one at that.
Then, to back up your lousy assumption, you generalize with a ridiculous statement.
Just in case someone wants to give their side, you throw out a radical opposing argument, in hopes that it will seem crazy for one person to know smart marijuana users.
I, too, laughed at the job creation.. In my opinion, the same people that sell alcohol, tobacco and pipes are going to sell weed, if it becomes legal.
You think that it's JUST going to be Obama that passes a drug legalization law? Seriously?
Lastly, another ignorant statement generalizing pot heads.
Kudos.

The legality of marijuana is pretty much the least intelligent way to choose a political party.

Bahaha, he owned your ass.
You can't generalize everyone who smokes pot into a single category of 'Lazy pieces of shit'.

Truth.
It's more like 85% lazy pieces of shit and 15% I-only-smoke-once-in-a-while.

Then all the 'lazy pieces of shit' must congregate only in my area, because based upon my experiences I think that's a pretty accurate assessment.

Re: Vote for marijuana
When is Obama going to answer these questions????
i am so excited to hear what he has to say about all this.
I have never smoked pot, and never will.
But my friends do, and my family members. And i have not seen them act any different then they have when they first started..
All marijuana is, is just your body being overly happy, with something. Chocolate (i believe) has that ingredient. and honestly if you eat a lot of chocolate you will feel the high.
I dont see anything wrong with this theory.
I am anxious to see what Obama says.
And if it does become legal, it will be less harmfull than already legal Items. INcluding Cigarettes, and Alcohol. The way i see it Weed can be compared to cigars.
So anyways when are we going to hear obama's views???

Back to the topic: The polls are closed and top 5 questions asked are very interesting. I would very much like to see these answered.

Thanks for generalizing.
Its better than getting belligerently drunk and harming/killing others and making a total ass of yourself.

My professor did a thesis, on why marijuana should be legalized. And it had a substance, i believe it was chocolate.
So if you want to argue with someone who wrote a 35 page paper, on it, with adequate sources. Then talk to him not me, idiot.

i like it the way it is... If it's legalized, no way is it going to be legal for you to grow your own, you're going to have to buy it from Marlboro and Camel. And i'm sure government subsidized weed will be a lot more chronic than what a lot of people are getting, but at the same time, here in the PNW, we are known for our delicious bud. I can't imagine it staying that way.

I'm not sure if you're inferring I often get drunk in public or what... but your argument is basically calling it a 'lesser of two evils' so you kind of contradicted your argument that it is a harmless habit that should be legalized.

You are so fucking retarded it's staggering.
First of all, writing a 25-page paper on something doesn't make it true. Look at the 9/11 Commission report. Second, he can have all the sources in the world. If his sources are people like him (people who shouldn't be teaching) then it doesn't mean shit. Judging by your posts, I'm really not surprised you were taught by gullible faggots with learning disabilities.

Yes. It is, by FAR, the lesser of two evils.
Marijuana makes people lazy and unmotivated. It may cause loss of short term memory. It may cause you to consume food combinations you once never deemed possible or edible. It is not physically addictive.
Alcohol makes people belligerent. Alcoholism destroys a man's body, mind, family, and life. Alcohol withdrawals can be fatal. It causes blackouts, and lowers your inhibitions, making you do things you may regret later. You can die from alcohol poisoning. Thousands of people die in drunk driving accidents annually. Do I have to keep going? Because I could.
Can you honestly give me a good reason why marijuana should be illegal, while alcohol is legal?
It is not "a harmless habit," but it is ridiculously less harmful than alcohol.
