counterfeiting receipts
so i had an idea to make counterfeit reciepts and use them to steal shit.
what are the dynamics of this? would it work? if so, what are the things i need to know? (like how to make the best counterfiet reciept) i got a calculator that prints what i calculate. any ideas on how to make it look really real?

this would definitely work. if you have the money to buy a machine which would print out receipts, just go on google images and look up receipts for each company and match them in photoshop or some shit. I'd hit a store once or twice every few months max. There are plenty of stores though.
There are two ways this could work.
1. Print out a receipt for an EXACT time. Go into a store about 5-7mins before this time. Grab an item that you have on the receipt(or items) that has a security tag on it. This means that you can now snag pricey items. You can walk out with a digital camera, wave the receipt, and they'll be happy to take off security tags. Make sure you don't walk out a second before the time on the receipt though. If they ask you to go to the register you were at, say you don't remember or that they're gone now.
2.Grab any item without security tags. Take your "receipt" and return for cash.
By the way, if you end up doing this and can make legit products, I'd be willing to buy bulk of custom receipts from you for 20% of their value.

Re: counterfeiting receipts
The majority of large stores have some sort of security in place against this. Often times it is in the form of transaction ID numbers. When you go to return the item this is entered into their computer and will come up as invalid.
There are far easier, and legal, ways to make money. Im curious why noone is interested in them.

Re: counterfeiting receipts
well see, my idea was to make the reciept for something that would set the alarm off, but then when the "greeter" (wal mart) asked to see a reciept after the alarm goes off, i show it to them, they see what i got and let me go.
not all expensive products have security tags that HAVE to be taken off for w/e i stole to work. like a psp or something.

Re: counterfeiting receipts
Many of the high value items at Wal mart are now locked up in cabinets either in the isles or behind the register, or stored in cages in the back of the store. Typically when one of these high value items is removed it is recorded and rung up immeditately at the electronics register.

well thats just an example. i have a friend who has stolen 2 psps from radio shack by putting them under his shirt. so i know that theirs got to be a place that i can get away w/ what i want. (dvds, mp3 players, things of interest, etc.)
but i could also just use this to get things like food and other necessities for free, then use the money i would have spent on that for more expensive "wants"

Perhaps you should ask your friend then It sounds like he has a better method that an elaborate plan to purchase a receipt printer. If he is able to walk out of a small store like Radio Shack with these items on his person then chances are most other stores wouldnt be a problem either for him and you.
