I understand law enforcement can spray some sort of chemical onto the scale and if it turns blue then that means traces of THC are on the scale, therefore making it paraphernalia. Is there a way to legalize it so all traces of THC are gone? Would something as simple as soap work? I got this scale from a friend, I wouldn't put the weed straight on the scale if it were mine.

Sounds like bullshit. That sounds more like the way they would test for presence of cocaine.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure there's no visible weed residue. My old scales used to get gunked to hell with crystals/hairs/shake/general weed stickiness.

I'm almost positive this exists. It exists for other drugs such as crack/cocaine. If you got caught with a pipe and said you used tobacco only, how would they prove it?

They could do chemical tests on the resin and ash thats probably in it. I doubt there's a spray though.

Then there has to be a way to test the scale whether it's a spray bottle or not.

i think the cocaine sprays are probably just the liquid from the field tests they use. but yeah, like someone said thc is very soluble in certain solvents (rubbing alcohol) just wipe it down.

eh i mean if they have suspicions against you to begin with you can and probably will get charged with paraphanailia (sp) if you get caught with a clean scale. i have friends who were slanging get busted with scales and scales only and get charged with the aforementioned.

Yeah, I have an old chocolate box that I weigh all my weed in, so it never touches the scale. Having it in the box makes it easier to dump in a bag too, rather than wiping the little pieces off the actual scale.

i dont think there is a reliable contact test you could do that would test for the presence of thc instantly, or without some other catalyst being involved.
