This thread is the opposite. This thread is about something your S/O has said to you that made your heart melt/ know she or he was the one/ jump each other's bones. This is about things to say to get you major brownie points.

My boyfriend once said to me "I'm not looking for someone to complete me. I'm looking for someone to grow with me, to learn from. I want someone who is always trying to be a better person. That's what I'm trying to do."

Once I managed to convince Ty into staying in the relationship by saying "Risk it all or gain nothing. Seriously honey it feels bad right now but what if it can be so much better? We have a connection that no one has. Ar you willing to give that up? Being complete opposite people makes the bad times really bad and the good times really good. You either work hard to make the bad times better. Or you decide the good times are worth the bad."

That second paragraph sounds like a bullshit rationalization. If you have to rationalize the need for sacrifice, then it should be over.

Isn't it strange how, if someone you don't love says something like that to you, it sounds utterly cheesy, but when it's someone you love, they can say almost anything nice, cheesy or not, about you or your relationship, and you fall for it?

In all seriousness, my boyfriend came up to me the other day and set down a gorgeous nugget in front of me and said, "I picked out the prettiest nug for the prettiest girl." It was cheesy and stupid, but funny.
