Default Car hopping tonight, tips from anyone?

Where I'm at (suburbs) theres a blizzard now/tonight, what better oppurtunity to car hop. My plan is to go out around 3:30am with my tools including a straightened coat hanger, various wedges for getting into the weather stripping, special hammer for breaking glass. I figure the sound of the wind will mean that no one will be hearing me breaking glass if i have to, and the thick snowfall will mask me from prying eyes. My goal is to safely hit up as many cars as possible in 10 - 20 minutes then peace quickly. So first of all is the sound of glass breaking very loud? i'd rather just run car to car smashing the window and doing it quickly since the sound will be muffled by the weather and get it over and done with before popo possibly arrive. The method i read about that seems easiest is using a wedge to pry the window open slightly at the top and use the coat hanger to push the unlock button, or use the coat hanger to unlock the door from the latch in the door near the handle. So please, tips, advice, anything, help my succeed!

I think your biggest worries are from the alarms, but if you wanna do it quick, smash the window, grab what you can and gtfo out of there. 1 or 2 cars would be the max if u wanna be safe.

I highly doubt the smashing of any car's window glass is loud. Just a guess tho. I'd start off with unlocked cars first, see if there are any snoops and then upgrade to breaking in.

Well I'm not too worried about alarms, I plan on just going for older cars parked at the nicer houses, so I'm not worrying about alarms, but still get the loot

breaking glass is loud, but its the sound of glass falling on itself/ground combined with initial impact that is responsible for the noise. Loud wind should be alright for covering you, best bet though is to duct tape the window and then smash it with your elbow/kick it in. Should reduce some of the shattering sound. To maximize the amount you're going to pull in, case the area first and scope out your targets. Test doors first (of course) before you go around making a bunch of noise smashing shit. I don't steal anything but if it was me, I'd cruise the area, find isolated cars and check the doors on em making notes of which ones are safest to hit. That or I just walk around and test all doors, the other night I saw someone walking down a street with at least 20 cars on it and the person ended up opening 5 of them just testing doors. I saw the guy pull out 4 packs of smokes, itrip, bunch of power tools and some cds.

Good luck

I'm no expert but my tips:

-Don't go under the influence

-Don't car hop for too long

-If you get really good loot, like a laptop, then call it a night

-If you see something nice in a car but it's not unlocked, break the window, grab it, and call it a night. Don't push your luck

-Don't car hop the same neighborhoods regularly

-Don't go with a friend unless you absolutely trust them

-Be prepared for alarms to go off even if the door is unlocked. It happened to me 3 times in one night.

-When checking visors, flip it back up slowly. A lot of times that's where the garage openers are and you can accidentally open it.

-Don't fucking get caught. If you're being chased by someone do everything you can to get away.

-People will kill you for breaking into their car, so be careful.

Good luck

you mite think that its retarded, but follow your gut. If you feel like something isnt right, or if your not feeling at your top, dont do it. Only go when you feel 110% confident with yourself. Only break windows if you see something very valuable (laptop, ipod etc). And yeah. thats all i got. everyother post sums shit up pretty well
