Narnia. It is a silly place.
Default Re: job hunting

A better way to do things would be to call them up, ask if they're taking applications at the current time, and then ask if X and X time would be good for you to come in and fill out an application.

I walked into a random Papa Johns after moving to a new town and was driving the next day. The calling and emailing is so fucking annoying if you just go in you will get answers and a job faster

How is the pizza driving business anyways. Is it hourly? Do they compensate you or is that what tips are for.

Just go in. They usually have more people than spaces and staying at home makes other people look better.

Its better then you would think. At Papa Johns we were paid 6$ an hour, plus 1$ per every delivery we made (gas), plus tips. The hourly wage is the only part that is taxed everything else is cash at the end of your shift. Shifts are short too. Say you worked a Friday night from 5PM-10PM and made 25 deliveries during that time, and each and average tip was 3$- you would get 100$ at the end of your shift plus check at the end of the week. It was so much more steady that I thought it would be.

it's not a bad gig. a couple of my friends have been delivery drivers. they made decent money, and always had stories of strange people they delivered to. plus a job where you get to drive around, listen to music, and smoke cigarettes can't be that bad.

Delivering pizzas was an alright job, when you're on the road. Not so much if you're stuck sitting around the store.

Plus, you better have an efficient and reliable car.

Thumbs up Re: job hunting

Just walk into the place, ask if they're looking for hire and if they say yes, get an application for, if they don't do application forms, give them a CV.

Go back a few days later and ask to speak to someone about a job application you did a few days ago. If the manager is in you will speak to him. If he didn't have time to look over it give him your phone number, or ask to organize an interview.
