So I'm beginning to discover the awesomeness of marijuana. Unfortunately this costs me money, so to take some responsibility and not spend all my savings I'm looking into/applying to a few jobs.

I'm not trying to find out how to pass a test. Just wondering how common it is for a teenager to be tested. And this is for companies not mom and pop places. So like %100 chance 50/50 or unlikely?

Also places that usually do and places that usually don't would be great. I read that food places usually don't, is this true? and should I expect for drug testing to be mentioned in the application or will it come as a fun surprise?

You most likely well not get tested, but it's never certain that you won't. It's a good idea to leave a cup of urine with your name on it on the boss' desk on the first day, in advance, just in case they need it.

Ok, because right now my urine is clean. But I just needed to know if I should keep it that way until I was settled into a job.

The good news is that if they tell you to get a drug test, you're pretty much hired so long as you pass it.

I've been tested for Best Buy, and a lot of large retailers will do the same. I also got tested, credit checked, backgrounded checked, and had all 10 fingers digitally fingerprinted for Commerce Bank, and I assume any other bank would do the same. Even Starbucks tested my girlfriend, but she just had to do a cotton swab test. So in my experience most of the big places test now. It makes their insurance cheaper.

So basically expect to be tested. Go talk to an employee at the place that looks like they would use drugs/ have no objection to you asking.

I think this is what I'm going to do. I looked at the times that it will stay in me on Wikipedia. Should I assume that I will be piss tested? But it looks like oral tests might be used?

Actually as motivation. I will not use any drugs until I find a job.

But if I do break that how soon between them telling me I am employed should I expect to be tested. Cause I don't want to think I'm in the clear and then fuck it up.

Does anybody have experience with a place like market basket? It seems like employees are always coming and going so they might not bother. I would much rather hold of or find a place that won't test me than worry about trying to cheat it.

It would be cool if there was a list out there of companys guaranteed to test and ones that rarely do, and make it statewide. Although I can see why nobody would ever do this.

Edit: maybe bltc would be more helpful. But it seems all they want to do is use drugs and pass. I would stop for awhile if need be. And the crowd here is mature/responsible enough to handle a job.
