There actually is a type of cabbage that can be used as a drug, I think. I was actually browsing Erowid earlier and found it.

I think its wild cabbage, not sure though. And not sure about its effects.

They probably meant lettuce which does contain opium in the roots, but in very laughable amounts. I think you'd probably need like a whole fields worth to get anything fun. It's sometimes sold as a legal high in things, but it's probably as effective as california poppy or drinking some chamomile tea. It's shit.

This. I'll usually attempt to feed a person information once or twice, and if they aren't receptive, I let it go. People will think what they will and that's the end of it. Only a few of us are truly open-minded to new information or other people's lifestyles.
