Default Valium Ampoules..?

So I need to know how these are used, there arent any instructions on the net anywhere.

I presume one vial = 10mg (or whatever the dose is) and the whole vial is draw up and shot?

Can anyone give me an idea of the effect too, compared with tablets.

You would have to determine dosages (most likely 10mg), i did find this...

Drawing up diazepam
Ampule (use once and discard)

1. Hold the bottom of the ampule and snap
off the top, being careful not to cut
yourself.
2. Attach a filter needle to the syringe and
remove the needle cover.
3. Put the filter needle into the ampule and
draw back the medicine into the syringe.
Tilt the ampule as needed.
4. Replace the needle cover, then take the
covered needle off the syringe.
5. Hold the syringe with the plunger end
down. Tap the syringe to allow the air
bubble to go to the top of the syringe.
6. Push the plunger up to the line that
marks the dose of the diazepam you will
be giving. This will push the air and
extra medicine out.

The onset of action is rapid following IV administration and effects of an IV dose may persist for as long as three (3) hours. Just be weary of respiratory depression.

You have a nice score with those ampules bro, enjoy. Be Safe

Yeah, they're 10 mg per ampoule, 5 mg/ml concentration. I've had them a few times before.

As far as the differences between ampoules and tablets, don't expect to get blown away whatsoever. The primary reasons for having diazepam in such a readily injectable solution are for use in immediate cessation of seizures and pre-op sedation when midazolam is either unsuitable for the patient or unavailable in the setting.

The onset is immediate, of course, but that's about as much as you'll notice as far as a "rush" goes. I did seem to consistently notice a pronounced increase in the action of muscle relaxation, though.

I appreciate valium more in an ampoule. Remember that if it is valium is suspended in alcohol, if you intend to inject get ready to have fire in your veins.

Stay safe,

Bump.

I need to know whether its safe to shoot a whole 10mg vial with no tolerance.

And also Ive read that it must be shot up slowly, very slowly, for some reason, probably the high alcohol content. Is this strictly necessary?

Shooting 10 mg without a tolerance is safe. You might even find yourself wanting more, actually. The bioavailability isn't increased dramatically by IV administration. Oral is already about 93%, if I remember correctly.

As far as slow injection, I can't help you there, sorry; I mean, I certainly never did mine slow, the few times I've actually done it, and I don't recall experiencing any adverse health effects as a result of that.

You should be fine @ 10mg bro.

Are they similar to these?
http://www.erowid.org/pharms/show_image.php?i=diazepam/valium_liquid__i2006e0160_disp.jpg

You need to determine what sort of ampoules you have. There are apparently many.

Diazepam 10mg/2ml emulsion for injection ampoules (Diazemuls)
Diazepam 2mg/ml rectal solution
1.25ml tube Diazepam 2mg/ml rectal solution
2.5ml tube Diazepam 4mg/ml rectal solution
2.5ml tube Diazepam 10mg/2ml solution for injection ampoules

I'm hoping, for you, it's one of the injection ampoules and not one for the rectal ROA (Rectubes). Well either way, it's Valium!

I once had 5 of the Valium Injection Ampoules 10MG/2ML made by Roche, I believe. 'Twas a fun night.

Soo, if it is for IV, you now have either an emulsion or a solution.

I'm assuming it's an emulsion you have, if you say it has to be IV'd or IM'd over a period of time.

copypasta4u -

Diazepam must first be released from the oil phase of the emulsion before it can exert a therapeutic effect. In fact, peak blood levels of diazepam are reached only after 15 minutes following IV injection of Diazemuls, and after 2 hours following IM administration. Subsequent to a rapid distribution phase, diazepam undergoes a longer elimination phase, which varies with age, from approximately 20 hours at age 20 to approximately 80 hours at age 80.

Rapid injection or the use of veins with too small a lumen carries the risk of thrombophlebitis. I.V. injection should therefore be directly into a large lumen vessel, such as an antecubital vein, and the drug should be administered slowly, at the rate of no more than 5 mg (1 mL)/minute. Extreme care should be taken to avoid intra-arterial administration or extravasation.

When used IV, Diazemuls should be injected directly into the vein without prior dilution or mixing with other products or solutions.

When IM'd, Diazemuls should be injected deeply into the muscle.

Each mL contains: diazepam 5 mg, dissolved in the oil phase of an oil/water emulsion compounded with purified soybean oil 150 mg, acetylated monoglycerides 50 mg, purified egg phospholipids 12 mg, glycerol anhydrous 22 mg and sodium hydroxide to adjust pH to approximately 8. Diazemuls is a sterile formulation and contains no preservatives. It is intended for i.v. or i.m. use only. Ampuls of 2 mL, packages of 10.

now remember, large lumen vessel, and no more than 5mg(1ml)/minute.
