Age Difference
Well up until recently i've been chasing this girl...then a few months ago it changed
We started chatting and over the months we've gotten closer (as friends)...recently she told me how much i ment to her...(apparently alot)
....errrmmm...well...i've recently realised that i am pretty atracted to her...dunno why...it kinda just happened...
...anywayz, the main problem i have is she is 14 and i'm 16 (i know....EWWWWW)...in my defence shes pretty mature and i'm...well....i'm here aren't i? u have seen my name?
my main question is what is the acceptable age difference?

Re: Age Difference
....amybe she's been lying to me...cause i have better convosations with her than most of my other friends (who are 16-22 yrs old)
...and...errrr.....well....compared the...errr...other 14 yr olds i know...shes alot more physically mature (just something i noticed when i met up with her and friends and while walking around the mall)
....so would 15 be a better age gap?

Re: Age Difference
Dude, she's 14, the relationship isn't going anywhere.
I hate when people say this shit like it's the end of the world if they date or not.
First off, it's 2 fucking years. 95% of my girlfriends have been 3-5 years older than me.
Second, you're fucking 16. What are you gonna do, hold her hand? I don't think you have to worry about a thing son, go have your stupid little dates at the movies and in a month's time she'll stop talking to you and start giggling to her friends and you'll see just how mature 14 year old girls really are.

Listen to this guy Zach, you're Sixteen. It's time to start looking for the girl you're going to settle down with.

No, he's going to take her out to the clubs and dance the Charleston, since clearly it's the fucking forties.
Times have changed old man. They start them young now.

Re: Age Difference
I started dating my boyfriend when I was 14 and he was 16. We've been together for three years.
Some relationships work, and some don't, and ruling out an entire relationship because there's the potential that an age difference could cause problems is rather stupid. I say this in a general sense, however, because while it is entirely possible for a 16 year old to have a perfectly lovely relationship with a younger person they deem 'very mature,' your spelling and extreme addiction to the ellipsis leads me to believe that 'mature for her age' is not a judgment you are entitled to make.

Re: Age Difference
2 years? Thats not even worth worrying about. I like a girl who is 5 years younger than me.
If you like her, then get with her. If you dont like her, then dont get with her. Simple as that.

If you talk to her like one of your 16 year old friends, then I see no problem. Just make sure she isn't putting on an act for you and she is actually a prostitot.

i know th equasion...thats why i was a little unsure and thats why i'm holding back(kinda)
in the end it doesn't matter how much i think i like her....it's not gonna work. She is about to move like 200kms away D:
I just just thinking should i tell her and risk ruining our friendship or keep in contact on MSN and just keep my feelings to myself

I hate that bullshit equation, that's some Sex and the city shit or something. 16 with a 14 year old is fine, 2 years is no big deal.
If she's 13 and gonna move though it's probably best to move on, not worth the time.

that's all that needs to be said
you're 16, you obviously want to gain access to her vagina.
normally, 2 years difference is nothing. if it were 15/17 or 16/18 there would be no problem
but at this stage, it's probably only you who wants to have the sex
she'd probably be freaked out by it i think
EDIT: read to the bottom
Fuck, zach. what are you going to get OUT of this relationship. too young to hold a relationship of the stable or sexy nature. try again

Re: Age Difference
Or any sane male.
If you're not gonna fuck her then there ain't a lot of point, she'll get bored with you as soon as she leaves school, maybe even before then; since you ain't gonna fuck her she'll get bored of you quicker as well.
She is my best friend but i like her more than i'm letting on...thats all i know...is there an inbetween thing in Best friends and dating?
Yeah, drunken sex. Booze + balls= Friend trap solution.
Or in your case suicide.

yep, yous have convinced me... if there too young to fuck, don't bother.
i should have really thought it out more before asking, but i'm not the best at thinking this stuff through (eg, knew a girl for 9 months who i wasn't sure was flirting..and now shes gone. yeah....i'm good thinking/acting)

Re: Age Difference
I really don't see this being a problem. It will become one when you turn 18, but lets not worry about that right now, 2 years is a long time for teenagers to be in a hypothetical relationship. Go for a younger girl, you'll probably be on a similar level.
The person I'm dating is 4 years older than me and I've debated leaving because I think they're immature! Age isn't always important.

Re: Age Difference
Us guys are rather immature compared to women...in public :)
I've found that in general most women are about 2-3 years more mature. There are exceptions though, for instance;
example-
1) Some girls i know from school are as mature as a 12 year old (and i'm talking about 16 year olds by the way)
2) I have been told by countless guys and girls that I'm alot more mature than most guys and some of the girls (who are on the "average" maturaty level)
In the end, it all comes down to the individuals in question (you and her)

Age is not a deciding factor in a relationship. Would you be happier if she was the exact same person, but she had "18" written in the "age" field in her forms? What if she had "82" written there? What if you had "82" written there? Why would you even care?
In the end, age is just some bullshit concept we made up. Everyone ages and matures in different ways. People hit puberty at different ages. Judge the other person as if their age doesn't exist - just see them for who they are.
Also, some people try to act "according to their age". Don't do that. Act the way you want to act. Because age is bullshit. It's what you look like and how you feel and how you think that matters.

There is nothing any of us can tell you which is going to change anything. Get with her if you want. Your friends will mock you mercilessly and taunt you for being a filthy paedophile. That's what we did to my friends who did it anyway :D
Weigh up the pro's and cons. And don't get nailed for statutory (If that applies).

Incorrect. The fourteen year old I dated was quite mature--her previous BF was a physician--bit she died tragically in a dorm fire a few years later. (Wait a minute--now I'm I'm thinking she was 16. Never mind.)
But my current wife got married for the first time at age 14.
Ever hear of "Romeo and Juliet"? She was 14, Romeo 15.

Yeah, but in Victorian times kids didn't have the internet and learned to grow up sociably and responsibly.
Turn on MTV for an hour and see if you see any behaviour that even slightly resembles maturity.
Also, good to have ya in the forum.

That's the point, not everyone watches MTV. People grow up in different ways.

Of course, but there's no substitute for the wisdom that comes from experience.
Hence why so many asian cultures respect the elders so much. Not because they're older, but because they've been around the block a lot more.
You can read whatever you want, but until you've been through love, marriage, divorce, etc, you aren't nearly as qualified as the people who have a couple of laps around the racetrack already.
