I don't know a great deal about coke vending machines, but i can't imagine them being alarmed..

Newer machines do have alarms, but I don't know if they go off for anything other than fucking with the money-taking mechanism. Like if you try to yank a dollar bill out as it's accepting it, the buzzer will sound but I'm not sure about hitting it with a bat or whatever. Try it and see, just have a plan to get away real quick in case something happens.

Most modern machines have tilt sensors. A strong enough vibration could set one off, but you'd have to hit it pretty hard.

A soda machine is built like a combination between a refrigerator and a safe. People know there is money inside, the manufacturers know people know there is money inside, and they're built accordingly. Thick, heavy steel, especially around the coin counter mechanism. Strong locks with three or five point locking door mechanisms.

You aren't breaking into a soda machine with a bat.

Note that the flimsy plastic part of the machine that lights up is just a facade. You can smash it but you won't gain anything: behind it are a couple of fluorescent light tubes, and behind those is a plate of steel. The money box is a steel box inside a steel box inside a steel cage, and is separate from the facade of the machine.

A lot of the new machines have glass fronts, you could get through that with a bat. Go for it, let us know how it goes.

as far as i can work out.. we will quickly walk up to the machine, and repeatedly hit it with bat/pole until it is opened enough to take stuff
we will then proceed to fill up our bags with food, and run to the place we are staying, we will come back.. if the coast is clear we will take more. Or should we only do it once?

I've personally never seen a coke macihne with a glass front... I don't think. I'm not calling you a liar though.
