Is my dad in danger if...
He drank twelve budweisers and took valium? I dont know how much valium but how many would it take on top of 12 beers to kill you? He's really fucking wasted Im kind of nervous about it. Should I call an ambulance?

Maybe if you weren't such a whiny, cautious, bitch he wouldn't have to self-medicate so much?
Think about it.

Re: Is my dad in danger if...
It depends on how much valium he took. He probably won't die but more likely than not he's going to pass the fuck out pretty soon, unless he's a big guy who drinks a lot. Put him on his side in case he vomits, and check his pulse and breathing throughout the night just to be safe.

He'll be fine.
You should probably be more worried for your own safety, nothing like a bitter, angry old prick in blackout mode.

Re: Is my dad in danger if...
The last time I took benzo's with alcohol I had to be dragged out of the party almost unconcious. I wouldn't have died but then again It wouldn't have took much more to put me into a coma. Maybe keep him awake or something if you get concerned.

Re: Is my dad in danger if...
He's probably in no danger.
I stopped breathing from mixing benzos and alcohol, and had to be intubated, but I also took 100 2mg ativan and drank a 12 pack of millers.
You could always do JPs fucking dopamine thingy. Overusing dopamine cancels out things that work on GABA. Phenyl doesn't get me high, but I win every drinking contest now.

Re: Is my dad in danger if...
While mixing sedatives and alcohol is never a good idea for anyone, I'd say that Valium is probably one of the most forgiving benzos you could pull it off with. True, the half-life is among the longest of all benzos, but the relative strength on a milligram/milligram basis in comparison with some of the other common commercial benzos is fairly low. Not that it's safe at all, because it isn't, and I don't condone and/or advise anyone to run out and start chugging Old Crow with a fistful of your grandmother's diazepam pills.
And by the way, OP, anyone who ingests Valium on top of a 12 pack is going to be "really fucking wasted"-- even with something as low as 5 or 10 mg. In fact, most people who aren't alcoholics, frat boys, or internet tough-guys are likely going to be wasted off the 12 pack alone.
I'm not going to bother posting any safety precautions considering this shit went down about 8 hours ago but figured I might as well add my typical $0.02 in a benzo-related thread...

Re: Is my dad in danger if...
Isn't there some kind of liver related danger with mixing acetaminophen and alcohol?

Re: Is my dad in danger if...
Okay, yes... this is Better living through chemistry, and people should be warned to be careful...
But even a semi-safe dose of benzo's and alcohol is going to look pretty intense and wreckless... that is where the fun is... well... forgotten fun.
It is like ketamine, ketamine users look like they are about to fucking OD and die when in a K hole, though a K hole is a pretty safe thing, not too many bad things can happen if you are in a safe place, but to the unexperienced eye, it looks like a room full of junkies passing out and dieing.
What I am trying to say is that, your dad is an adult, and as a drug using adult, you have to be careful when you take your drugs, you cant be high all the time with kids, wife and work, so you have to choose your times.... and obviously, he has chosen his time to get fucking HAMMERED and that is what he is doing.
Leave him to it... no doubt he will go to sleep hours before you... so just sit there and listen to him snore... if he is snoring, he is alive, no worries
just to ease your mind a bit... when I was 18 and I weighed 120 lbs. with no benzo tolerance, I ate 16.5 10mg valium and snorted X amount of morphine, smoked all my pot, chugged a little bit of nameless booze and was fine.
I couldnt remember the next week or my life, but I was OK.
I suggest you just try to steer clear of him and not piss him off.

Re: Is my dad in danger if...
It probably depends on his weight and his alcohol tolerance. The real danger is him blacking out and doing something stupid, like going out to get more booze or downing a shitload more valium without him remembering.
