So my girlfriend was mildly hurt at work about 4 months and is kinda of slaking off in school. Her mother thinks it is because she got hurt, and is sometimes in pain; however, it's not. We've been partying a lot and just blowing stuff off.
So her mom takes her to her work comp docter to get some pain meds to "get better grades" (lol wtf right.) About 8 mins after seeing the docter she comes out with focalin. I'm just.....I donno...wow.

Am I the only one that is like "woah..." ?

Doctor: "Well, I don't know if it will help her do better in school, but I have read a few things where people get a lot more work done. I don't want to give you a narcotic so focalin XR might help. 5mg x30

well thats enough for 1 day thats right 1 day.

personally, opiates would hinder my mental performance, as they kind of put you in a 'haze' even if I was in pain. even in low doses. but you said it wasn't cuz of the pain, so...

also, has anybody ever heard of focalin actually working? anybody ever try it?

your sure i didnt... it wasnt even that sweet it felt like maybe 60-70mg of adderal. now maybe if i would have said 300mg that might of been skeptical but come on 150mg really isnt all that much.

Doctors lately prescribe these medications for pretty much anybody. Last year I was given 10mg methylphenidate (generic ritalin) just for finals and my doctor was very serious about having me take Focalin XR and Concerta XR (both methylphenidate) this whole year.... For the most part I use it for school because they really help if I take them, if she wants to use it for school she should, there's nothing wrong with it. If she wants to use it to party (it can be used for a number of illicit purposes) then she should say it's not working to get them changed or her dosage upped.

My friend went to the doctor one day randomly because he mentioned to his mom it's hard to focus and also in 5 minutes tops got Focalin 10mg and Focalin XR 10mg, which he makes a ton of money off selling.
