Firstly I don't know what you mean by "they". As far as I know there aren't any tried and proven inhibitors of myostatin. That is I am not aware of any human tests that successfully binded myostatin with an "inhibitor" that blocked it from it's receptors and consequently increased muscle hypertrophy. Furthermore the reason people assume this would work to increase hypertrophy is because myostatin is found abundantly in patients with diseases that cause muscle dystrophy. Therefore they assume that if a lot of myostatin causes dystrophy maybe the opposite will cause hypertrophy. It is clear that there is a correlation between the two but correlation does not mean causation, and just because it works one way doesn't mean it will work in reverse (assuming that correlation does mean causation in this case). With a quick google search I found that Cytoseira canariensi is a promising inhibitor but has yet to be tested and proven.

What is cytoseira canariensi made of? Carbon. I don't know if that was the answer you're looking for but it's the best I could give you with my limited knowledge of biology

who cares?

it all appears to be marketing nonsense:

++++++

I have to admit, I'm new to this product.
I generally read medical journals, not body building forums , and except for a quick google, I'm not really informed about this topic.
The pubmed journal article from 2004 (first on the list) is pretty credible.
It seems not many researchers are wasting their time doing research on this stuff.
But, it all seems to be utter nonsense , on quick first read.

Any "myostatin inhibitors" on the shelves right now are bullshit, they will not inhibit myostatin-they will lighten your wallet.

There are some peptides and gene alterations in testing, but nothing beyond that.

yea i kno ive read about how ppl are trying to sell them as supplements an how its bull thats y i wanted to kno what the inhibitor/inhibitors are so i can tryn make them or buy it in pure form an i was thinking if it works for mice oviously it can work for people aparantly it makes tendons brittle tho u wouldnt wana ave it for long unles u could reverse the effect by taking hgh oviously u would do it for a month and neva again it might cause cancer growth to on top of that there would be enormus strain on ur body an heart

lol what ever you can make and buy anything ive gota chemistry book and the chemical could have other uses for all i know and be readyly available do a little more research gene alteration is forever and inhibitor isnt myostation is somthing your body develops to stop limitless muscle mass so i either want to block the receptors from reading myostation or stop or slow the production briefly not much point having big muscles if there full of tumors or ur tendons snap whern u tryn lift the weight of ur own arm
