Anarchy is much more than violence, and is to a large degree anti-violent. Anarchy is much more than just the absence of government: it is the creation of an entirely new social order, one based on consent instead of coercion, and horizontalism instead of hierarchy. It has existed before a lot of other "leftist" movements, like Communism, notably, and before a lot of other rightist movements.
