My gfs father is a total douche to me. I mean, hes a total douche in the first place, but hes nice to lots of people. But hes a total douche to me, even though Ive made a visible effort to be nice to this racist, ignorant, lazy bastard.
Its clearly because Im going out with/fucking his daughter. The mom (who loves me btw) basically said that in not so many words.
I dont get it. Do fathers really think their daughter is gonna stay pure and virginal and untouched for their whole lives?
I think its really immature to be do that shit. I mean, she could be going out with someone waaaaaay worse. I treat her like a fuckin queen and theres no reason he shouldnt like me.
I mean I dont wanna think about my family members fucking people... my mom is single and its kinda weird when some guy is over having dinner with her, and I know they probably just banged...but I dont give the guy shit. Well, I used to...but then I turned 10 and realized that its not my business and it doesnt hurt anyone and I was being totally immature.
And yeah, I cant know, because I dont have a daughter. But I vow that if/when I do (though I hope to allah I dont, because I would have to give my best livestock as dowry when she gets married), I wont be a douche to her bf unless he actually IS a twat.

Honestly, there isn't much you will be able to do other than to talk to him, one on one, man to man. Tell him straight up, what you told us, just a lot more respectful.
I've always gotten along great with parents, I guess I'm lucky. I find it would be hard to have a good relationship with a girl if I didn't get a long with her parents or if they didn't respect me. This is mainly if she lives at home, or if I plan on marrying her. I think this could be said in general with a lot of people, though I am not sure. |

Asshole dads are a part of life. Be as respectful as you can, that's all you can do. First time I met my ex's dad, I went to shake his hand and he just mugged me until I eventually put my hand back at my side. It was pretty cliche, so I chuckled. Treat their daughter nice and they will grow on you.

Just fuckin talk to him after a few beers (there will be an opportunity where you have to sit down with him somewhere and have a drink together), tell him your intentions with his daughter and that you're gonna be there for her always and that you're not fucking her around. She lives with her parents still for some of the year, and if I want to see her then, I'm going to have to deal with her father and I'd rather it be pleasant.
