Scrapping idea
My mate and i got this idea of going to local high school football/track fields at night and take apart the bleachers and scrapping them.
Is there any other objects out there that are easy to scrap to make a profit?

What are they made of? If they're aluminium then that would be good, but steel would be a waste of time.

Re: Scrapping idea
I'm pretty sure the mesh in fences is steel.
Aluminium ladders would be easy to steal and scrap if you had a way to transport them.

If you are going to hit the place, you should try to find a way into their track shed if this school has one. You can find lots of keepsakes...

Re: Scrapping idea
Yep, thats a bad idea allright.
First, the arse just fell out of the scrapmetal market.
You wouldn't get 1/3rd of what you would have a few months ago.
Second, its something that people use & to steal it is pretty low.
Third, The Cops are gonna be looking real hard for it, they are going to visit every scrapyard to find out where it went.
Fourth, Its real damn obvious what it was & it wasn't rubbish. Even the scrapmetal dealer would probably call the Police once he saw it.

First, yeah i just read up about something like this. Wtf happend?
Second, this is Bad Ideas. There is way lower shit in here then scraping a bench.
For example.....

Third, Thats why we have a location to stash it till the winter season ends and we're going to chop it up in pieces.
Fourth, Scrapmetal dealers in my area dont give two shits how you obtained the scrap. All they care about is making money off your ass. Most of the catalytic converts that go into our local scrap yards are stolen but they dont say anything.

Re: Scrapping idea
I still think its a bad idea (but then, thats why were are here)
You would (but I'm NOT suggesting it) be better off finding a Aluminium scaffolding or something else.
Then selling it as scaffolding.
Brand new Ali (to buy) is US$1300 a ton now.
A year ago it was US$2141 (22Sep 07)
