consequences for actions?
short version.
obtained an ipod. sold ipod on craigslist. didn't realize ipod was broken. person wanted money back. said no. ignored phone calls for two weeks. two weeks later he threatened to turn ipod into police via. email if i didn't give him his money back, apparently he went all sherlock holmes on my ass and looked up who the ipod was registered too, and it didn't match any of the "names" I had given him. he has my phone number/email, thats it.
what could the police do/what would be the best action (would i be safe just keeping the cash?)

Re: consequences for actions?
Pack any important shit like clothes and weapons cut up your credit cards and throw your phone away cut up IDs and burn your whole house down and run into the north woods in Canada. I did that once and found a Grow Ranch. All in a glass house. Helped with the operation became a millionaire and now visit totse daily after recently moving back. Try it.

I would be VERY VERY worried. You can definately get charged with theft.
Never sell obtained shit on CL. That's the problem with CL. CL is local, is personal, and very anti-scam.
How didnt u realize ipod was broken? check ur item out before selling it.

Re: consequences for actions?
You got nothing to fear. There's no way to prove you stole it. Plus they got like...murders, robberies, etc to investigate.

Unless he lives in one of those gay safe neighborhoods...like I do, then the cops have nothing better to do.

Re: consequences for actions?
omg all new arrivals/ acolytes/ kidiots stfu!!!!
seriously dude you have nothing to worry about
The cops have better things to do instead of worrying about a ipod that doesnt work
if you do get questioned (which i highly doubt) just say you found it and say he must of broken it bc it worked when you had it

Re: consequences for actions?
If you do have cops askn questions just tell them you bought it at a pawn shop out of town and the guy at the store showed you it worked then before you used it someone gave you a newer one so you sold the one from the pawn shop on CL.

you dumb noobie. If he bought it from a pawnshop, he'll need to show proof of receipt.
If he claims to have "lost" the receipt, then the cops want him to point out which pawnshop, which the pawnshop will flat out deny as they keep records of EVERYTHING

Re: consequences for actions?
what the hell do you think i mean when i say out of town. the cops arnt going to waste there time looking for who sold a guy a FUCKING ipod 1000miles away. they have better things to deal with. just to make you happy he could have been on a trip to new york and found a street vender

BTW Why would u buy from a pawnshop and then sell it off right away on CL?
Also if u cant point out the street vendor that sold u the ipod, presumably you're responsible as owning the stolen shit. that's a felony.

Re: consequences for actions?
Tell him to suck your dick. If police actually approach or call say you don't know what their talking about and walk away. Don't say anything to the Police and it is best to not even respond at all but if you do tell him to Suck Your Dick.

Re: consequences for actions?
Did you call from your own phone?
Buying a $10 prepaid phone at walmart is a good investment when selling stolen shit.

Re: consequences for actions?
Yeah, you're little buyer is just bluffing. honestly, what could they possibly do to you?
Cop: did you sell a stolen ipod? where did you get this?
You: 4th amendment blah blah blah either show me what charges are being pressed or gtfo
Cop: ok. *bends down and sucks your cock on the way out*
Seriously though, try ebay for ipods and stuff like that, it's much less personal and chances are your buyer isn't even going to be in the same state. as long as your ipod looks/works as advertised, then you shouldn't have any issues.
