Commit credit card fraud....on myself
I was thinking... What if i have my friend go into a store with my debit card and purchase random shit like tv's and ps3's.... I then call in and claim i didn't do it....??
The bank will give me my money back..... and ill keep the shit..
Is there a way they could find out i was lying?
hypothetically of course.

Re: Commit credit card fraud....on myself
it can work no problems...
i was once dreamt about this and the police didnt even get involved afaik.. just a phone call to the bank, they never heard anything again cept a letter saying they didnt have to pay.
1 person went into a travel agents with a credit card bought nearly £1000 travellers cheques, they were then cashed somewhere else, then the card reported stolen/lost.
just make sure you get a crime number when you report the card lost/stolen, dont lie about where you've been its very easy to lose a card dont make up dramatic stories, have a friend who has guts and tbh honest its better to do it the summer as most places have cctv, the person doing the shopping wont look out of place in shades/baseball cap in the summer.
worries me that prints could be obtained somehow but this never happened, try and a friend with no record.
edited to add ^ that was in pre-pin code days when only a signature was required... dunno how you'll explain someone having your pin and using your original bank card???

well.. you can actually use the bank card as a credit card.. Meaning you won't need a pin..
Im just worried they might search my room or something to make sure i dont have the merchandise... because i was thinking of having my friend buy me a nice big HDTV and maybe some games and a ps3 to go with it :< Then just call in and be like "yeah.. i lost my card and i think someone used it....can i haz money back?"
then hope they never investigate it further D:

Seriously, big winter coat, stocking cap, wont be able to describe hair or build, and the stores are always packed so anyone could have picked up your card and bought lots of stuff without any suspicion.

I hope ur over 18 cuz if ur like 14 and u call ur bank, and you sound like some young kid then they'll automatically be a little suspicious.
If you really have a friend do it, he/she can get in trouble. If you do it, you can get in trouble as well. im assuming you meant that ur doing it, as i hope so. cause if you get a friend to do it, he'll snitch.
also if you do it, try not to do it at a store near ur house or where u have shopped, this will be a little obvious.
I suspect this scam might be easier to pull off with a credit card rather than debit card. plus w/ debit card u gotta enter ur pin. what's the chances of someone getting your card and still knowin ur pin #???
