Do you EVER stay with a cheater?
As some of you might know my girlfriend cheated on me about a week ago. I felt the right thing to do was leave her and never talk to her again. But as anybody would, I'm finding myself thinking about the circumstances more and more, and I wanna know what totse thinks.
This is all relative to quite a few different relationship factors like how long you've been dating and how strong your relationship is in the first place but I wanna get a general idea of what others think
Would you stay with your current S.O. if he/she told you he/she cheated on you...?? Whether it was just making out, having sex, or whatever you consider cheating ya know.
Whats the general thought on this??

Id leave her ass. It would suck to be alone. But it would be better then always wondering what the fuck she was doing. And every time we get in an argument, i would be thinking what she would do.

Yeah that's a good point. What I've always thought is if they'll do it once then what's stopping them from doing it again?

A cheater will cheat whenever they get the chance. If they think they won't get caught they'll always do it.

Re: Do you EVER stay with a cheater?
Well of course this goes on a case by case basis, but if I remember your story correctly - the girl you were going out with kissed some guy at a party. Now if my girlfriend is at a party and got drunk and all she did was "kiss" some guy, I would probably get a little pissed but drop her altogether? Probably not. This is just me though, I may operate a little differently than others (Disclaimer).

Re: Do you EVER stay with a cheater?
Depends entirely on the scenario, but generally I don't think cheating is a reason to breakup with someone in itself.
Say for example, my girlfriend ditched me at a party, went and had sex with her ex-girlfriend who she still had feelings for, and then lied to me about it, yeah I'd be fucking pissed.
But say I couldn't see her for like a month because of weather, and she got real drunk and fooled around with some hot college chick who was dancing naked on tables at a bar, I'd only be pissed that she didn't take pictures.
For me the biggest thing is being upfront about it. If they do it and try and hide it from me and I find out from someone else bitch is gonna get slapped.

Well yeah, it's a little more difficult though. Like you said it goes on a case by case basis. I really thought her and I had a good understanding of each other and I didn't ever think she's do that but then she told me to my face.
That just completely shatters every bit of trust we had in the relationship and I don't think I could keep going like that. Not trusting her and all that, it would be too stressful to try and keep it alive.
And I'm kinda weird in a way where every time I have sex with her after knowing what she did, I'll always have that in the back of my mind. In a way. Just that nagging feeling that she's been with someone else. I can't stand that.

Re: Do you EVER stay with a cheater?
If she was under the impression that you'd never find out that she cheated, but she came out and told you any way and was very sorry, she's worth a second chance. At least you can sleep at night knowing if she cheats again you'll know about it.
Any girl can cheat, and most wont ever tell you. Every guy defends his girlfriend "my girl's different, she wouldn't cheat, you just can't choose women" - yeah? Well every guy* who got cheated on probably thought the exact same thing. Plus how many guys are out there who never find out, ever?
*sexes reversed as well.

If it's in the back of your head all the time, either confront her and explain how you feel. If she can't help clear your mind and place a sense of trust back in your relationship -than drop her.

Re: Do you EVER stay with a cheater?
The person they cheated on you with now gains the ability to be above you. They can talk to your partner (your girlfriend) behind your back about you.
Think about it, it wasn't like they just simply fucked. When they were talking to each other your girlfriend said or thought, "fuck my boyfriend and fuck the relationship im hoooooooooooooooooooooorney and i wanna get fuuuuuuuuuucked now"

Re: Do you EVER stay with a cheater?
Did she tell you or did you find out?
Who was it with?
Why did she do it?
It depends on all this if i would stay with her. Though there is no GOOD reason to cheat in my opinion there are understandable ones.
I stayed with a girl who cheated on me. Can't say i've regretted that. Course, in my case i could understand the why, and she told me right away the day after.
ps. Almost any girls has been with somebody before ... if you start thinking bout that well...might as well become a monk. Plus you just justified no girl ever sleeping with you again. He's put his poker in an other girl before, yuk.

If you've lost trust, then the relationship can't work.

She told me.
It was with a guy I somewhat know who's older than me and hits on her sometimes.
She said she was drunk when she did it.
There was some drama a while back (I made a thread about it) about how she supposedly cheated on me at this party with the same guy. At least that's what one of my friends who was there was telling me. We fought about it for about a week and then I just let it go and decided to trust her. Well now she actually did cheat on me with him. Even though she still denies cheating on me at the party... no idea why...
But yeah the thing is basically I've lost most if not all of my trust in her and I just don't think I could trust dating her again. Unless someone here on totse can somehow convince me otherwise which I doubt will happen.
ps. I know pretty much every girl I've dated has been with another guy before you just missed me point. I meant it would be hard for me to stick my cock in an unfaithful (to me) pussy. Not any pussy.

Re: Do you EVER stay with a cheater?
If drunk was her reason...wise
drunk is never the reason, it just lowers your resistance to doing it for other reasons. There's no greater bullshit then that
All i can say now, is, i hope she has a female best friend who's pretty.....

Yeah in a way I was almost even more pissed when she said "but I was drunk when I did it." Actually it made me a lot more angry. Like she was trying to use it as an excuse or something to make it all okay.
She texted me the other day randomly and said "Regardless of what our status is I love you and I hate myself for hurting you but Im human and made a mistake and Im truly and deeply sorry."
I hate that. She was trying to apologize and say she'll always love me but at the same time threw in the "but Im human and made a mistake." Well I'm human too and I never cheated on her. Fucking whore.

Re: Do you EVER stay with a cheater?
It's all about trust and expectations. There are people who are open and those who aren't. This is why you have to communicate. Otherwise, how do you know where you both are?
It's obvious that you had an expectation of monogamy. You trusted her on this. She broke the trust. End of her.
That text she sent you is stupid. We all make mistakes, but it hardly defends cheating. There's a reason behind it too, and that's what hurts.

Re: Do you EVER stay with a cheater?
I've been with my boyfriend for three years (as of today, actually) but if he cheated on me i would have to leave him. I wouldn't be able to spend the rest of our life together wondering if he was with someone else behind my back, or worse, thinking of someone else while we were together.

VOODOOMAN.
Never get back with a cheater. Just don't do it. What would you do if you got away with cheating? You'd fucking do it again wouldn't you?
Just leave that stupid bitch, man. You've already proved that you're a better person, with way more integrity than her. Don't ruin that by being her doormat.

Good I needed to hear that.
I have gotten away with cheating before and I did do it again. I should have learned from my own personal experience with cheating... well what am i saying, I DID learn from it lol. Otherwise I'd still be together with this girl. That was a long time ago and I've learned a lot since then. I don't ever plan on cheating it's about the worst thing you can do karma-wise and now I know how it feels to be cheated on.
I just needed some confirmation for what I did, that's why I made this thread.
