Elliot Smith was an extremely talented musician, very dedicated, and he probably just isn't your thing. Seriously though he has more talent in a drop of sperm than you have in your whole entire family.

I agree with OP, I have three of his CDs--From a basement on the hill, xo, and figure 8, and I only actually enjoy the first one. He's pretty overrated by loads of people. Most of his songs are just too moody after a while, plus, you really can't understand a fucking thing he says cuz of the way he records his voice and he mumbles. 'Tis a shame he offed himself, though.
