I was thinking about buying a bong - but as I was thinking about it I remembered all of the stories I always hear about bongs getting smashed/stolen/confiscated and i was wondering if i really wanted to spend what i could get an ounce of mids on for something that would be no more in just a matter of months. so before i go out and buy one can you guys tell me around how long i can keep said bong before it gets destroyed? or should i just get a really nice pipe or a shit bong for a lot cheapeR?

As far as a bong breaking goes, you just need to be careful. Or there is always the option of buyin a bong that is not glass (I dont know what they are made out of but I had a non-glass one once). If you keep track of where it is, than it will not give any fickers the chace to steal it. I think that the biggest concern (for me) id getting it confiscated, but just find a good spot to hide it and you will be fine. Hope I helped.

Every time I've heard of something bad happening to a bong it was due to human error. Including when I accidentally smashed mine the day before my last birthday.

I have a glass bong. Every time I take it out I like to think about how it's really just sitting there melting. Buy an acrylic binger for extended half-life.

Getting acrylic over glass simply because of durability issues is stupid. Unless you treat you bongs like shit or have clumsy friends, acrylic isn't really worth it. Get some quality glass, treat it right, and it will reward you with months/years of smooth smoking. Glass is so much smoother, tastier, and cooler.

Keep the bong in one dedicated smoking place, preferably in a room with a couch and a carpeted floor, and it will last forever. But sliders do break from time to time...

Thankfully basic ones only cost $5 to $10.

The acrylic are almost always a straight tube and I usually end up swallowing some of the smoke when I take a large hit. It depends on the shape of the glass on how it hits. I've found that if the bong has some type of curve to it, it hits a lot smoother and I've also never swallowed smoked when hitting a nice glass piece. All in all, it really doesn't make much of a difference especially after the first couple hits.
