They're two different things?
Opium tar contains various opiates. Heroin is a single kind of opiate.

heroin contains diacetylmorphine while opium contains a variety of alkaloids, primarily morphine, codeine, thebaine, and papaverine.

opium is a mild buzz with little to no euphoria. basically the euphoria only exists in the first few uses (until tolerance builds basically). opium is comparable to weed pretty much. and on top of that a lot of opium is of shitty quality or just plain bunk.
heroin on the other hand is the most perfect high that exists on gods beautiful green earth.

Black tar heroin however has other acetylated opiates in it.
The difference is that black tar is acetylated into heroin and contains acetylated codeine, crude morphine, diacetyl morephine. |
